Great Ribs

I love this place when I am in Center City. It is an old firehouse with seating inside and outside, depending on the weather. Menu is varied but I always have the ribs for dinner. The ribs are smoked, cooked to perfection with just enough sauce (not drowned to hide all the meat flavor). The dinner... read more

The food at Jack's can be fabulous. The ribs m, the soups and the desserts are great. I like the atmosphere and also it's a great place for takeout. They are fast convenient and friendly. During nice weather it's wonderful to sit out front.

Jack's Firehouse is across the street from Eastern State If you are here during Halloween you need a reservation. The restaurant is, in fact, an old Firehouse. During warm weather the doors are open and there is an outdoor dining space. The bar serves great drinks. The restaurant has what I would call a seasonal or farm to table menu.... More

We ate here for lunch at 1:00pm on a Wednesday after visiting the Eastern State Penitentiary. We waited for 40 minutes before our food came and the order was wrong. Nobody came to apologize for the long wait. They took my order off the bill and I left without eating since I didn't want to wait 40 minutes for them... More

We loved this restaurant!!! Tour the Eastern State Pen. and enjoy dinner at Jack's. We had the calamari which was delicious as were the pulled pork nachos. Our waitress, Brittany was wonderful! She recommended eating the spicy fries with the hot lava, great idea!!! We will be back!

Stopped here by chance as it was right across from eastern state penitentiary - we were served banana bread, corn muffins, biscuits with a cherry compote and butter upon being seated. I had blt ceaser salad - very good! My husband didn't care for the catfish sandwich though. I would still recommend!!

We came here after a long rainy day at the Convention Center and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and warm friendly service, in a room with tablecloths and enough space to gear each other. Food was great - mushroom soup, pumpkin squash soup, ribs, Apple slaw salad. Entrees served with free sides of collard greens and fresh mashed... More
