Nice and accommodating staff

We had just toured the Eastern PA Penitentiary and needed to call a cab. We stopped in here and had a drink while the bartender called us a taxi. It was very nice and convenient. I only wish I could have tried their food.

Lunch dinner or apps- food is always tasty & fresh. Great barbecue / delicious drinks at bar served by best bartenders in the city. Love Matt & Dean

This past Sunday, Mother's Day, we decided that we hadn't had enough fun with the family (we had gone to Brunch earlier in Center City and then to a performance of the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra at the Kimmel Center - which was wonderful. Especially if you love Beethoven's 5th and who doesn't?), so we stopped into Jack's a Firehouse for... More

Location=an old inner Philly city firehouse with one wood door, totally city, and totally filled with nostalgia to set the mood We had an awesome dinner and if not for some slow service during dessert, this place would be 5 star excellent. Visit when it's warmer in the evening, they have great outdoor tables and prime location for the ever... More

We stopped here after visiting Eastern State Penitentiary. It was right across the street in an old firehouse. The food and staff are stellar. The decor is really cool and the extra touches like complimentary cornbread, biscuits and cherries, as well as oven fresh cookies are a nice touch. I can't wait to return this summer.

If you're visiting Eastern State Penitentiary, than Jack's is a decent place to eat and it is right across the street. Shouldn't need a reservation for lunch, but probably should make one for dinner. The meal started off with complementary (and tasty) biscuits and corn muffins. Had the calamari for an appetizer. Interesting dish that came with breaded jalapenos and... More

A group of 18 ate here after the MS walk and we were pleased. Nice Bloody Mary. Wasn't the best ever but it was good. I had the quesadilla and it was good. Friends had the bbq ribs and thought they were outstanding. Other friend had bbq platter and really enjoyed it too!

My family and I are regulars here. Jacks is consistently a good value with nice ambience, a great bar and thoughtful touches like biscuits and cherries before and cookies after dinner, both complimentary. The ribs are delightful.

I recently traveled to Philly with my mother-in-law and we stopped here for lunch. I had been here once before for business and really enjoyed it, so I wanted to share it with her. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious (we order much more than we could eat), and the atmosphere of this converted old fashioned fire house... More
