Great food in a neat location

I recently traveled to Philly with my mother-in-law and we stopped here for lunch. I had been here once before for business and really enjoyed it, so I wanted to share it with her. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious (we order much more than we could eat), and the atmosphere of this... read more

My family and I are regulars here. Jacks is consistently a good value with nice ambience, a great bar and thoughtful touches like biscuits and cherries before and cookies after dinner, both complimentary. The ribs are delightful.

I was across town enjoying the city and while searching places to eat stumbled on this. No regrets. The setting is very old school but the food I cannot complain about. Great service though we came in at a slow time. Definitely coming back, pocket friendly too.

We stopped at Jack's on a cold and snowy day after walking the Eastern Penitentiary. Jack's is right across the street. The soups were delicious. I had the pea soup, my daughter had the sweet potato soup and my husband had the mushroom soup. All were served hot and fresh. Our main courses were also very tasty. The bread basket... More

Great food, great location and the servers couldn't have been any friendlier and helpful. Will definitely come back when we are in the area.

Jack's has been a favorite for many years. It may not be the fanciest place, but the food is absolutely top notch. Went with a co-worker for lunch. The brisket shows why it was Jack who was teaching Bobby Flay how to barbecue back in the early days of the Food Network. Fairly priced. The sour cherries for the complimentary... More

We walked over from Macy's (mile and a half) and were very hungry. We had heard good things and they were all true! The service was very nice and the servers were knowledgeable about the menu, the chef, and restaurant's history. The meal begins with a basket of corn bread muffins and biscuits, with butter and sour cherries, which were... More

I visited to Jack's Firehouse about a dozen times over the two and a half years I lived in Fairmount and quite a few times before that. Pros: Excellent food. I never had anything that wasn't tasty and good. Some things were better than others, but nothing was bad. They start you off with some delicious biscuits and homemade jams... More

Good sized group of us randomly walked over from the Art Museum area after running the 1/2 marathon. The staff was very accommodating to get us seated, "rehydrated," and quickly bread bowl caloricly replenhished. The waitress was chill in helping trick my high maintenance city slicker sister into trying their scrapple, which btw as far as scrapple is concerned, was... More
