Still one of the best restaurants in the City

Jack's has been a favorite for many years. It may not be the fanciest place, but the food is absolutely top notch. Went with a co-worker for lunch. The brisket shows why it was Jack who was teaching Bobby Flay how to barbecue back in the early days of the Food Network. Fairly priced. The sour... read more

We walked over from Macy's (mile and a half) and were very hungry. We had heard good things and they were all true! The service was very nice and the servers were knowledgeable about the menu, the chef, and restaurant's history. The meal begins with a basket of corn bread muffins and biscuits, with butter and sour cherries, which were... More

I visited to Jack's Firehouse about a dozen times over the two and a half years I lived in Fairmount and quite a few times before that. Pros: Excellent food. I never had anything that wasn't tasty and good. Some things were better than others, but nothing was bad. They start you off with some delicious biscuits and homemade jams... More

Good sized group of us randomly walked over from the Art Museum area after running the 1/2 marathon. The staff was very accommodating to get us seated, "rehydrated," and quickly bread bowl caloricly replenhished. The waitress was chill in helping trick my high maintenance city slicker sister into trying their scrapple, which btw as far as scrapple is concerned, was... More

I LOVE this restaurant. I have never had a bad meal or experience! They are even pet friendly and provide dog bowls for your pups when you dine outside. My favorite dish is the apple salad and they make their own cornbread and biscuits. If you are going to Eastern State then dine here or even if you are in... More

Went to have dinner here before attending Terror Behind the Walls at the Eastern State Penitentiary( Terror is a 5* attraction and a MUS see if in Philly during Halloween Season) The food was excellent and we were looking forward to sharing one of their amazing home-made deserts. The poor young woman serving us did her best to answer question... More

I purchased 3 Fright and a Bite packages for Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary. This included a 3 course meal and our tickets. The menu was set with several selections. you got an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. I thought that I was getting a good deal for the Terror Behind the Walls tickets and... More

Ok, I love Jack McDaniel as a chef and I knew that he had restaurants in Philly, but I didn't but the 2 together, since this one is across the street from Eastern State Penitentiary! If, you get the chance, go in and try it, it's not the normal "Philly fare", they have a spin on all the classics and... More

Sat inside but door to outside left open so staff could service customers. Terrible shame as we froze also inside! Our requests and complaints fell on deaf ears! Our comfort sacrificed at the expense of staff accessibility. We did not stay for puddings and got out as fast as we could.
