Worth the trip...muy bien El Vez

We really enjoyed dinner here. Very crowded for a Sunday, glad we made a reservation. The frozen blood orange margarita was smooth and well done. Original guacamole was fresh and very good with warm chips. Everyone really enjoyed their selection, taco tasting platter (raves on the sea bass), crispy... read more

El Vez has a great vibe. The interior is pretty and kind of neon Mexican. I don't exactly know what that means but it's so attractive, with kind of cushiony back, open booths, and very up-beat decor. The food was delicious: kind of a modern, upgrade on classic Tex-Mex. The opening Nachos and Guacamole were delicious and abundant. The chicken... More

I met a friend for dinner here and the place is very cute with a fun atmosphere. We sat at the bar and had drinks and guacamole while we waited for our table. The guacamole was delicious but I thought on the pricey side for guacamole. The margaritas were typical. The staff was excellent and very helpful and brought our... More

Had a great time at El Vez. The Bazooka guacamole (with goat cheese) was out of this world. Great taco sampler plate. Decent prices on beer. Service was excellent. Only downside is that it is quite lively and very loud. I was hoarse the next day from having a conversation.

A bit more tex-mex (with flair), the food at El Vez is tasty and well portioned. The grilled corn on the cob is a must have, the appetizers are definitely share size, and the guacamole (original is my favorite) is a memorable taste experience. The Pasilla Braised Pork was flavorful, delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. To add to the fun,... More

Lots for fun - kinetic and crazy place. A bunch of different guacamoles -- loved the one with the goat cheese. Lots of tacos and a few mains -- but the menu was limited to America's cartoon notion of Mexican food and wouldnt be called authentic in any way. But keep pouring the tequila and who cares? The staff was... More

My family and I walked to this place on the recommendation of a local who works at the Jefferson Medical Center near by. We weren't expecting much more than a typical Mexican restaurant like Chipotle or even the old Chi Chi's chain. What we got was something a bit different. As you walk in the front door, the atmosphere is... More

The food was delicious. My wife had soft tacos with chicken and avocado. She said she was glad that our son did not try it, because he would not eat her chicken tacos after tasting El Vez's. I had black bean enchiladas which were almost as delicious (a tad too much salt for my liking). The waiter was extremely friendly.... More

The BEST nachos ever! They spread them out on a pizza pan so every single chip has a bunch of goodness! The Tacos al Carbon (fajitas) were amazing...came in a huge cast iron grill pot/pan. Says it serves 2, but more like 3 or 4 (especially after the nachos!) Definitely get a reservation no matter when you go. I went... More
