This place in Philly has great Mexican food with a cool urban twist. The decor is urban. Try the pomegranate margaritas!
Go to El Vez if you are ever in Philly. Since I am in the industry, I thoroughly enjoy trying other Mexican food establishments. El Vez did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, they exceeded my expectations. The variety, quality, as well as presentation was second to none. Our party of four all ordered different items so that we... More
This place was phenomenal!! We (two couples in our mid 20's) tried to go here on a Friday night, but the wait was too long. We tried again the next day and the wait was over 2 hours, but we decided to put our names down anyway. El Vez will take your cell phone number and text you when the... More
El Vez is THE place for margaritas, guacamole and fish tacos. Fun to sit outside in the sun on warm days, always vibrant atmosphere inside. Wait staff is always quick and pleasant. Don't waste time ordering a glass.... Go for the pitcher of Granada margaritas, and enjoy one of the many made-to-order guacamoles. Yum!!
This place is the best place in Philadelphia for guacamole and margaritas. Their fish tacos (mahi mahi and sea bass) are also delicious, and I have yet to taste anything here that is not good. Prices are a bit higher than comparable restaurants, but it's worth it once in a while. My one complaint is that they never change the... More
Stopped in for lunch with my husband and another couple. Found the food to be ample and very good! Fours beers took a little while to get to our table, but other than that I would say this is an excellent restaurant in a great location. Decor was fun!!
This place just isn't what it's cracked out to be. The food really just isn't that good. It's a fun atmosphere but that's about it. We decided we will not return here. It seems to be thriving simply on the fact that it's a Steven Starr restaurant. I've paid less for WAYYYYY better Mexican food. It's one thing to overpay... More
Despite a snowstorm and frigid temperatures, we hiked the 6 blocks to one of our Philadelphia favorites during a recent business trip. That's how good it is! The quirky interior design, the friendly knowledgable wait staff and the scrumptious menu never disappoint. As a vegetarian there are wonderful options but I could also make a meal of just their guacamole.... More
The last 2 times I visited El Vez the food was mediocre at best. Fried fried fried…The cliental is 20- 30's very loud. That said go across the street and have gelato!
