Amazing Mexican food. I highly recommend the guacamole appetizer. We had the traditional, but I am sure they are all good. I also had the burrito special of the day and it was grilled chicken, rice, beans, and other stuff I could not understand. It was superb.

Recentely went to El Vez in Philadelphia. People in Philly were raving about how good it was. I disagree. Atmosphere is cool and trending; Margaritas were Good but the food was average at best. So I can not rave about it. So, go for the margaritas and for the atmosphere but keep your expectations on the food low and you... More

We went here during restaurant week on a Sunday night and didn't have reservations but we don't mind eating at a high top or the bar. Atmosphere is really cool, staff was friendly and accommodating and our service was flawless. I had the frozen blood orange margarita and it was fantastic. I chose the four course meal provided it was... More

Great atmosphere. Awesome actually. Came during a convention so it was PACKED! make a reservation ahead of time if you want to sit at a table. We sat at the bar, it took about 1 hr to get a seat but it was worth it! Food is great. We had the crab and cactus salsa and the carnitas tacos. Excellent-... More

Great food, great service, festive atmosphere made for a lovely New Year's Eve dinner for adults and teenagers alike. Reasonable prices, decorations and music made a great way to ring in the new year!

I visited on December 23rd 2014 with two girlfriends - we were doing a night out in the city. We have been to El Vez several times and it's usually a good time. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case that night. We made reservations back in October for 8:00pm. We arrived at 7:45pm so we sat at the bar and got... More

This was not our first visit to El Vez. The guacamole is great. Comes in assorted varieties like crab or goat cheese as well as the original. You can get a sampler of three to share. The nacho's are also very good. I tried the red snapper dish with olives, capers & tomatoes. Excellent. The service is very good. they... More

We walked in while we were deciding where to eat dinner. I didn't mind the decor, especially the big, red velvet half-circle booths and working photo booth at the back, but the food was just 'okay'. It's a fun atmosphere for late night eats and a pitcher of sangria, but your mind won't be blown with the food.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in philly. The guacamole is made fresh in front of you most times, all the food is great. The atmosphere is hip and fun, staff good and did I mention they have a black and white photo b
