Dangerously good margaritas! The service was outstanding and our server knew the menu cover-to-cover. We had the Tito Santana guacamole and the Chicken Tinga Quesadillas. Delicious food and a very good value. Nice atmosphere in a fun part of town.

The place is loud and full of energy, staff is great, and the food is off the charts. The guacamole can't be beat...nor can the salsa. A must when in the area. Just be prepared to wait because the place can have quite a wait...and justifiably so!!!!

It was not what I expected. Although our server was friendly, our lunch (2 adults 2 kids) were overpriced at $87. What did we order was the $1 million question. I thought it was suppose to be as good if not better than El Azteca Mexican Restaurant at 8th and Chestnut Sts., but it wasn't. It was more of an... More

Drove to Philly for concert last night and was looking for a great place to eat. Asked a few locals, and more than one mention el vez. They were spot on. The energy, waiter food were just what we needed. They have 5 or 7 different guacs so if you didn't like one, only blame yourself. Our mango corn guac... More

Perfect place to unwind! Our "dinner" was tasty and the vibe was fun. I put dinner in quotes because our appetizers were so good and fulfilling that we skipped the entrees and went to dessert, which was fabulous! Great value - we left very full but the total bill was quite reasonable.

I went for lunch and the guac was the most expensive item I got and dont know why. $13? Ok. Tableside? no. But there's chunks of avacado? Yes, but that's how it is supposed to be. The heuvos was great for $8 with a side salad. No problem there. The half order of nachos, $5, was great- spicy salsa on... More

Decor is kitsch on steroids. High energy atmosphere which can interfere with dinner conversation, but the quality of the food forgives that sin. Definitely try the margaritas and a guacamole sampler. The taco sampler is amazing and the plantains are the best I've ever had. The Tres Leches Cake was good, but I've had better. Service is good, but the... More

I LOVE El Vez, before moving back to Philadelphia, this was my Go-To spot on work trips. Their margaritas are excellent. Yes, a little pricy, but that's only because they use good products. Definitely worth it for a pitcher of the granada margaritas. I usually start with the original "El Vez" guacamole, not overly adventurous, but AMAZING in it's simplicity.... More

I used to live in Philly and I would be at this place twice a month, every month! This is where my boyfriend and I had our first date. Great, fun environment. Awesome margaritas! Order the mahi mahi tacos!
