Service was slow and the food fair, but pricey. Overall the place is nothing spectacular. Would not return.

The decor and atmosphere is awesome. Be prepared for coed washroom sinks. Food was great... Chips and salsa really hit the spot and the guac was great too. My husband and one of our friends got the corn on the cob side and said it was the best corn they've ever had. Our server seemed a bit snooty and there... More

Great location, and loved that they have indoor and outdoor (seasonal) seating. We didn't have a reservation (tried to make one on Open Table, but was booked) so we walked over from our hotel and were seated immediately. TIP: I think we lucked out because it only a few minutes after 5pm, so go early! The only thing I found... More

We ate at El Vez on a recent trip to Philly. The first night we were in town it was recommended to us by a friend so we tried to eat there. However, the wait time was over an hour so we chose to get on their text wait list. (Nice touch) we ended up going somewhere else and I... More

We went to eat here after a Sunday evening show at the Forrest theatre. It's conveniently within walking distance of the theatre and there's a parking garage right on that same corner with decent evening parking prices. We had a reservation and even though we arrived early, we were seated immediately. The restaurant was about 95% full and very loud... More

Dangerously good margaritas! The service was outstanding and our server knew the menu cover-to-cover. We had the Tito Santana guacamole and the Chicken Tinga Quesadillas. Delicious food and a very good value. Nice atmosphere in a fun part of town.

The place is loud and full of energy, staff is great, and the food is off the charts. The guacamole can't be beat...nor can the salsa. A must when in the area. Just be prepared to wait because the place can have quite a wait...and justifiably so!!!!

It was not what I expected. Although our server was friendly, our lunch (2 adults 2 kids) were overpriced at $87. What did we order was the $1 million question. I thought it was suppose to be as good if not better than El Azteca Mexican Restaurant at 8th and Chestnut Sts., but it wasn't. It was more of an... More

Drove to Philly for concert last night and was looking for a great place to eat. Asked a few locals, and more than one mention el vez. They were spot on. The energy, waiter food were just what we needed. They have 5 or 7 different guacs so if you didn't like one, only blame yourself. Our mango corn guac... More
