Yummy Philly cheesesteak

Campo's is a family-owned traditional Philly deli in a safe neighborhood three blocks from Independence Hall. I ordered the beef cheesesteak with Cheez Whiz and grilled onions. I see why everyone raves about authentic Philly cheesesteaks! A really yummy sandwich.

I was disappointed. We went to Philadelphia for an historical tour and one goal was to have an authentic cheesesteak sandwich. Campo's was the highest rated place near us. The bread was fresh and excellent, the cheesesteak sandwich with "wiz" was very good 4.5/5. However, we also ordered a cheesesteak sandwich with Provalone and the "works". We sit down, only... More

Wonderful Philly cheesesteaks, club sandwiches, chips, and side items (pasta salad, mac n' cheese, etc). Not much room for seating but people are in and out very quickly so if you wait for just a few minutes, a free table will open up. I love this place because it's a local place and it's a family business.

We made a quick stop here while checking out a few sights around Philly. A few people we talked to recommended this place so tried it. A small place that was packed full of people and it was a very good sandwich. I ordered the mamma mia hoagie which was full of flavour. All of my friends ordered different items... More

We had the day to visit the sights around the historical area and were on a quest to find a good cheese-steak for lunch. Went here based on recommendations. I'm not a big cheese-steak lover so we went with one meatball sub and one cheese-steak. My husband loved it, and I was actually very impressed with the meatballs in mine.... More

So I had the opportunity to stop over for a cheesesteak today and was stunned that first it was a $11 sandwich and it was half the size of the other cheesesteak...yeh I know it is Old City pricing but this was way over the top. At best ok!

We had lunch here and it is a nice place and the food is not bad, but we had the opportunity to try another Philly cheesestake later in our trip and could see this one was definitely not the best. So if you are only having one... head to the market!

I was walking around looking for a place to eat and this small eatery was packed - a busload of people on a bus tour were eating there. Although the place is famous for cheese steak sandwiches, I ordered the grilled veggies sub and it was very good. Loaded with grilled veggies and garbanzo beans, the bread was delicious and... More

Campo's tops our list now. Jim's, Sonny's, Tony Luke? All good. But Campo's is better. Made to order, polite, and dang friggin good. This'll be a standard stop for us from now whenever we go to Philadelphia. Delicious. Oh, man. Don't miss it.

I thought the food was good but nothing spectacular. The place was small and there were few seats available to use. Service was quick and friendly.
