We were looking for a good Philly Cheesesteak place and were told to try Campos. It had the look and feel of the neighborhood. Small and cramped and although a little busy, there were tables available inside and out. They were busy behind the counter and we placed our orders in a few minutes and waited about 15 minutes to... Campos is generally rated among the very top cheese steak places in Philadelphia. Based on my experience I would have to wonder about that reputation. The shop is classically small and cramped with lots of atmosphere from the Old City neighborhood. The service was best described as disinterested, not especially helpful, maybe they were just tired. The cheese steak was... More

Our cheese steak sandwiches were excellent. I generally lay off cheese steak for the most part, but want it to be really good when I do have it. I was not disappointed. My only issue would be that the sandwiches were on the small side and a bit pricey. Two sandwiches, two bottles of water, and a potato salad, came... More

My family was all excited for original Philly Cheesesteak. We were walking around and walked in just before the lunch rush. We all ordered The Original with either American or Provolone. Very good, but food was same as a Sit in restaurant bill and drink were very expensive. The restaurant was interesting, with Philadelphia sports memorabilia and an autographed painting... More

We were told Campo's had good sandwiches and we were not disappointed. The 3 in our group had a cheesesteak, the Caprese sandwich and a BLT. All 3 were delicious. Yes it is pricey and it's cash only, but vacation means splurge.

We were starving when we walked in here and really excited to get some of our first real phily cheesesteaks. The place was really busy so it was a little bit of a wait for food. Once we ordered food I found out what the price was and was shocked. When we got our food they mixed up our order... More

Two locals recommended Campo's for Philly cheesesteak near the main tourist attractions in Philadelphia. We were sorely disappointed. The sandwiches were mediocre at best, and the beer selection was poor. We were ready to swear off Philly cheesesteak after this experience. Luckily we found much better fare elsewhere the next day.

During our day in Philadelphia, we had to have authentic Philly cheesesteak. We selected Campo's because it is within walking distance of the park. My husband had the traditional cheesesteak; I had the Bar-B-Que cheesesteak. Both were very good, but way more than we needed. One sandwich between us would have been sufficient. We arrived at about 2:00 thinking we... More

First time in Philly and have to get a cheesesteak so we tried Campos. The cheesesteak was tender with good flavor but our family of dour left hungry after spending $42. Too expensive for what you get.

First time in Philly and one of my bucket list items was to have a cheesesteak. I would have loved to have tried Geno's or Pat's for the popularity, but they are a little out of the way from the Old City. A tour guide recommended Campos which is conveniently located at 2nd and market street if you are in... More
