Great version of cheesesteak and hiagie

You'll get a better cheesesteak and hoagie here than you will at the famous tourist spots, you can eat at a table outside in Old City and you don't have to wait in line. Make sure you get your cheesesteak with provolone and not Whiz, which is just for tourists. The best thing here are the two... read more

A friend had recommended another place for cheesesteaks (out of the way from where we were at lunchtime). Someone at the visitors' center recommended Campo's and we headed there. Our clue should have been that it was not crowded, while every restaurant we passed on the way there was. The counter staff was rude and not helpful - was my... More

We were looking for somewhere good to eat and went in to Campos based on the amount of people in there. It's a basic environment, but the sandwiches are fantastic. My first cheese steak and not my last, although the portion sizes will mean that I don't need to eat too often!!

Visiting from overseas, my daughter and I checked into a hotel nearby and asked directions to a cheesesteak place. They recommended Campos and it was only a block away. We had a great lunch of "The Works" Cheesesteak and potato salad. It was a busy deli, but we found a table near the window and enjoyed our meal and people... More

I live 30 minutes from Philly and always spend time there sightseeing, taking photographs and eating good food. While Campos is well known for its hoagies (subs for some of you from outside the Philly area) and cheesesteaks, people should also be aware that there are a variety of items for the different people in your party. I was just... More

The Oink was a nice break from typical cheesesteak. They also have solid cannoli. Nice family operation. Mom makes cole slaw every morning and Dad filled cannoli when we bought it. GO!

I was disappointed. We went to Philadelphia for an historical tour and one goal was to have an authentic cheesesteak sandwich. Campo's was the highest rated place near us. The bread was fresh and excellent, the cheesesteak sandwich with "wiz" was very good 4.5/5. However, we also ordered a cheesesteak sandwich with Provalone and the "works". We sit down, only... More

Wonderful Philly cheesesteaks, club sandwiches, chips, and side items (pasta salad, mac n' cheese, etc). Not much room for seating but people are in and out very quickly so if you wait for just a few minutes, a free table will open up. I love this place because it's a local place and it's a family business.

We made a quick stop here while checking out a few sights around Philly. A few people we talked to recommended this place so tried it. A small place that was packed full of people and it was a very good sandwich. I ordered the mamma mia hoagie which was full of flavour. All of my friends ordered different items... More

Campo's is a family-owned traditional Philly deli in a safe neighborhood three blocks from Independence Hall. I ordered the beef cheesesteak with Cheez Whiz and grilled onions. I see why everyone raves about authentic Philly cheesesteaks! A really yummy sandwich.
