Easy stop for a good beer

Great beers if you like hops. Great grilled octopus. Easy visit with family on a chilly winter night during the week. Sandwiches and burgers a bit expensive but it's the city so not unexpected.

We stumbled into this bar on a winters walk on 3rd Avenue. We ordered two great beers and then started off with tapas style starters - the mussel and chorizo, and the grilled octopus!!! Great service and great vibe.

Very casual atmospher, truly a gastropub with a wide variety of local beers, knowledgeable staff, and great food. We had the chicken pie which was excellent, but the biggest surprise was the baked beans which were excellent. Great for a fun dinner out, I wouldn't recommend it for kids.

The food was delicious! Had the chicken pie and crab cake sandwich and they passed my expectations. Went on a Saturday night around 9 and sat right away. There's two levels and upstairs has an outside eating area. The tables and stools are pretty small though, and the menu is written on a large chalk board affixed to the wall.... More

Four of us went here for a couple of pints and something to eat before going to a Steely Dan concert in Camden last Monday. Simply put, this is a superb pub. 2 cask beers on handpump - both were excellent. Whole bunch of other beers too. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The barman was friendly and... More

Love the beer selections here. Food/menu changes and anything I've had there is good. It's a great place to go, hang out with friends and try some good craft beers.

Went for brunch recently to an old favorite, that has unfortunately went downhill! My husband and I were barely acknowledged (not busy)... Then seated in a corner not to be presented with a menu but rather to look at a board of very limited and over-priced options.... Upon poor service, we neglected to stay for brunch and left after a... More

Wife and I had a few beers and cocktails before a show at the Electric Factory. We split the eggplant dip and black bean burger. The food was great. Beer selection was good enough. Our server, bartender, seemed disinterested. That didn't take away from our experience. Great place. Nice neighborhood!

The food was great but the atmosphere also sold me on this place. Very relaxed, no pressure, friendly. I had the avocado toast with egg with a mimosa for lunch - I haven't stopped raving about the toast since. Everyone ordered something different and was very satisfied with their selections - many options. Wait staff is very personable, helpful.

The Standard Tap, just a little north of Center City - Philadelphia - was a solid local neighborhood bar and restaurant. Its somewhat gritty decor, completely fine and appropriate for the look of the place, was counterbalanced with excellent food choices and solid wait service. It's as far from pretentious as possible and if you're looking for an alternative to... More
