We had no prior plans to have dinner in this restaurant but it turned out to be very good experience. Seared scottish salmon was amazing. The service was good and fast, no pressure, no games. The rating primarily reflects the value: good food for a fair price.

Had dinner here on a Monday night by myself when my companions had other plans. Place looks charming, very atmospheric, with the wait staff in traditional French waiters attire. Service was attentive and my dinner (pasta with chicken, asparagus and mushrooms in truffle sauce) was divine. I picked the restaurant because it was close to the hotel but would definitely... More

Had the pre-theater special (salad maison, salmon, chocolate mousse) before heading off to the Opera - service was excellent, the food was terrific, and we were out on time. Can't ask for much better than that! I recommend Caribou Cafe.

Can't comment on the food, because we never got served. We waited ten minutes and were totally ignored by the staff in a nearly empty restaurant. As we were leaving, one waiter glanced at us with an "I could care less attitude".

A friend and I ate lunch outdoors at this adorable bistro; on the sidewalk, greenery provides sense of privacy yet allows easy people-watching. Our server struck just the right note of friendliness and efficiency (I appreciate a server who makes himself available for possible requests without constantly asking if everything is okay). I had the cheese board, always hard to... More

I had lunch at Caribou Cafe during a recent trip to Philadelphia. The selections were not a extensive as I might have liked but I had a delicious bowl of soup served with very nice bread. The service was very good and prompt but I did not feel rushed. The atmosphere was nice - causal with a slight French twist.

Caribou was good back in the 90's and still offers the same experience. The decor is updated and very French. The menu has many variations of French classics and the cocktail, beer and wine offerings are well thought out. The same outdoor seating area offers great people watching. The croque monsieur and charcuterie are classic.

We went to have dinner at this place before we'd go to a conert at Curtis Institute. We weren't on a hurry at all and we were somewhat pleased when entering the place to see this was a kind of classic French bistrot. Although the waiter had total knowledge of the menu, he was clearly a better person than we... More

Was there on Sunday evening, 9/14. Had not been able to get a table anywhere nearby (likely because this was Restaurant Week in which Caribou participated). Caribou was basically empty. I should have been forewarned by this but went in anyway. Had a cold potato-leek soup which was not cold enough. Overall the soup was mediocre but likely the best... More
