Was there on Sunday evening, 9/14. Had not been able to get a table anywhere nearby (likely because this was Restaurant Week in which Caribou participated). Caribou was basically empty. I should have been forewarned by this but went in anyway. Had a cold potato-leek soup which was not cold enough. Overall the soup was mediocre but likely the best... More

We went in for a late dinner after the theater, loving the decor (Art Nouveau) and the music. Was puzzling to stand there waiting to be acknowledged by anyone, so we just sat ourselves, and the couple next to us did too. Our waiter was terrifically friendly but seemed to be hampered by delays in the bar and kitchen for... More

We had tickets for a show at the (nearly) next-door Forrest Theatre and chose Caribou Cafe for dinner before the show. It was our firest time at this restaurant. The menu was extensive, our server was attentive and knowledgable (including wine choices), and the food was perfect. We used Open Table for reservations, which turned out to be a good... More

We have visited Caribou Cafe numerous times for lunch and have always enjoyed our meals. For the uninitiated, Caribou Cafe is Philadelphia's version of a French bistro. It is a charming and attractive space and has a typical menu. Lunch is always very good. We had dinner there for the first time on Saturday and to say I was disappointed... More

Friendly staff, with a nice atmosphere and tasteful decor. The food was very good, but the bread came late and the food did as well. Be prepared to wait.

Have been here before and liked it but they must of changed chef and management. Service was terrible from the hostess, to wait staff. Food was just ok. The special soup was a cold tomato that tasted like dirt, the pasta entree was a pappardelle with veggies that had really no taste, it was like they added water to stretch... More

I saw the owner chef win an episode of the television show Chopped. After having Sunday brunch there, I understand why he was a winner. The food was good, and the prices not bad.

I had lunch and drinks at the fine wooden bar during the France-Nigeria World Cup match. I was expecting the place to be bursting with French fans as it often is during these matches, but apparently most of them stayed home or watched on other venues. Even the owner who was there for the previous match with his raucous french... More

With a modest selection of very nice simple dishes, this small restaurant with tables spilling out onto the sidewalk was just what we wanted when we got into our hotel a bit late this evening. I had the roast chicken with incredibly delicate gnocchi, and my wife had the Skate, a first-for-us-fish with nice density and a new flavor. The... More
