Pesto is a small, family run, restaurant located on Broad street near Passyunk Ave. They serve southern Italian fare. The food is very good and the service is in the Italian style, attentive but not rushed. The only downside is the lack of parking, which comes as no suprise to anyone familiar with South Philly. BYOB with no corking fee.

In our view, there is no better Italian restaurant in South Philly. It is a typically small shop, with crowded tables an loud voices. But the food and service is top shelf. The best on my list is the mozzarella and peppers appetizer and the gnocchi main course. This is a family run restaurant, so they'll close for a couple... More

Don't understand how this place has good reviews. It's not good at all. The food was terrible and the service was just as bad.

This was a last minute decision for my wife and me. We were dropping our daughter and her friend off at a concert at Wells Fargo Center. We wanted to grab a bite to eat but were not familiar with the area. A quick TA search brought up Ristorante Pesto as the number 1 restaurant in Philly. After reading a... More

The appetizers were much better than the entrees, so I would suggest just ordering lots of varied starters. Desserts were good, but not great.

Visiting Philly and we decided to have a nice Italian dinner in famous South Philly. Ristorante Pesto lived up to its reputation perfectly. It even exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was lovely, and parking was easier than other locations in the neighborhood. The food was unbelievsble! Delicious specials and menu items, impressive service and just an overall wonderful dining experience.... More

It is no wonder that this restaurant is one of the highest rated restaurants on tripadvisor for the Philadelphia area. We were in Philadelphia for college tours and were looking for somewhere that would be nice to sit down and eat after a long day of driving. After seeing the great reviews for Pesto, we decided to call and see... More

great food and attentive service that is also warm and accommodating. We brought our own wine which they happily served, and they also have a bar-- my wife had a great martini, so it's the best of both worlds. We had the branzino and tilapia specials - both were perfectly prepared, fresh and flavorful. Portions are plentiful
