Pesto is a popular casual neighborhood place and packed even on summer weeknights, so be prepared to wait a bit even if you have a reservation. You'll agree that it's worth your wait, as the food is very good and portions are enormous. Service is bustling and efficient, and most accommodating. They happily made me a whole grilled fish even... More

I have been to Italy and cities all over, this place is the real deal. Ambiance is not at an all time high but comfortable and quaint. Go for the food. Period. The appetizers were all fabulous. pasta dishes, fish dishes, veal chop, scallopini, meatballs, all fabulous. Owner came over and greeted us and we were treated like family. Bring... More

My daughter and I ate here before attending the Billy Joel concert at Citizens Bank Park. Great location if you are going to the sports stadiums or arena and want to have an early dinner before an event. The food was fabulous and service was superb. Our server, Rita, was outstanding! I definitely will come back when I'm in Philadelphia... More

We visited as a party of 6. The specials were numerous. The bread was served including corn bread (?) as well as a glazed carrot and balsamic carrot dish for the table. There was a salad with poached pears, gorgonzola cheese, walnuts and a raspberry vinagrette that was fabulous. Four of the six had a ricotta cheese made pasta called... More

This place is the tops! Pesto is excellent all the way around. From the moment you enter the door you feel like family. The hostess and staff are warm and friendly. The restaurant is impeccably clean. Our waitress told us the specials (and there were ALOT of specials), water glasses were filled and continually topped off, appetizers were on the... More

Hello! I found this restaurant after moving here from Pittsburgh on trip advisor and it was an AMAZING experience ! First off when I called to make reservations a very kind woman answered the phone and answered all my questions with patience and a great attitude . Then when eating we were greeted with nothing but exceptional service. The whole... More

We previously lived for over a decade in Philly and knew the great Italian restaurants--- surprise they change. Tonight we actually used TripAdvisor for guidance and yes ate here. What an incredible find. Everything is made on the premises. The sauces are to die for. We started with an eggplant appetizer and a stuffed mushroom appetizer. Each a meal in... More

My husband and I have eaten at "Pesto's" several times, and we're always delighted. It's like eating dinner in a friend's home. The staff is relaxed and unpretentious. And the food!... The first time, I had the veal chop ($39) prepared perfectly; elegant in it's simplicity. We always order appetizers for the table for sharing. There's plenty to go around.... More

Found ourselves in S. Philly on short notice & needing a meal. contacted the son who recommended this restaurant. I called (Friday nite 7 PM) & inquired about the availability of a table for three. She said to come on! If I were doing a drive by without recommendation,I never would have stopped. Once inside the door, your experience is transformed.... More
