We were seated promptly, with a reservation for an evening meal on Friday, August 15, in a comfortable banquet and in an attractive room. With menus in hand, we gave the server drink orders. After too far long a wait for them, he arrived to tell us about a "special", at which point I noted we would like to have... More

My fiance and I stopped in recently after a movie to try a few dishes because we heard wonderful things about the menu. It was around 10 and there were not many people in the restaurant. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. However, the server was visibly upset that we did not order a tasting menu. The whole meal... More

We recently had brunch on a Sunday at Fork. The entrees were a reasonable portion size and service was amiable and efficient. The duck confit enteree had very little duck, mostly greens. The egg dish I had was average. The smoked pastrami platter had exceptionally fatty meat. While pastrami is never lean, this serving was more fat, less meat. Our server... More

We had the house menu and it was one of the most innovative and wonderful dining experiences we've ever had.

After a long day of traveling, we arrived rather late on a weekend night & without a reservation, looking a little disheveled (and very obviously like tourists!). The elegance of the restaurant made us feel a little intimidated, but as we stood on the sidewalk, looking indecisive, the host noticed us and came out to give us a very friendly... More

The dining room is nicely decorated, and the noise level makes conversation easy. The service was prompt, well-informed, helpful, and provided just the right amount of attention. The food was excellent--imaginative and perfectly cooked. My branzino "en croute" and my wife's lamb three ways were both outstanding, and unlike anything we've had elsewhere. Our server was very helpful with wine... More

We were staying in the old city/independence/historic area, seeing all the sights and this was the best meal we had in the area. Delicious, innovative and perfect. We had the tasting menu and it was well worth it. Highly recommended!!

My wife and I both had the four course price fixe menu ($70.00 each). We both agreed the best course by far was the dessert! We had the "Root beer" float which tastes nothing like root beer ( really a chocolate mouse) but still excellent. The other was a strawberries and cream creation. Yummy for both. For apps we had... We were virtually the only people dining this afternoon, so we had a lot of attentive service...but not too much. The food was well presented, perfect portions. We walked out of there very fulfilled and our taste buds satisfied. It is a little tough to find, as there is construction right out the front door which threw us off at... More

We ask the Concierge for an area with restaurants where we can have diner. We are staying Hotel Monaco (see separate review) in the heart of old town. We are told to explore Market and Chester between 2nd and 6th St. We dully follow advice and find only noisy touristy places we don’t like. Back to the hotel, this time... More
