We were staying in the old city/independence/historic area, seeing all the sights and this was the best meal we had in the area. Delicious, innovative and perfect. We had the tasting menu and it was well worth it. Highly recommended!!

My wife and I both had the four course price fixe menu ($70.00 each). We both agreed the best course by far was the dessert! We had the "Root beer" float which tastes nothing like root beer ( really a chocolate mouse) but still excellent. The other was a strawberries and cream creation. Yummy for both. For apps we had... We were virtually the only people dining this afternoon, so we had a lot of attentive service...but not too much. The food was well presented, perfect portions. We walked out of there very fulfilled and our taste buds satisfied. It is a little tough to find, as there is construction right out the front door which threw us off at... More

We ask the Concierge for an area with restaurants where we can have diner. We are staying Hotel Monaco (see separate review) in the heart of old town. We are told to explore Market and Chester between 2nd and 6th St. We dully follow advice and find only noisy touristy places we don’t like. Back to the hotel, this time... More

During a recent trip to Philly we had the good fortune to eat at Fork. We were not disappointed in the least. The service was excellent, including a visit from the owner, and the food was sensational. A couple of us had the tilefish , which was prepared exquisitely. Great flavors, marvelous presentation and just wonderful Others had the stinging... More

Lovely decor, friendly staff and interesting menu. We decided to go with the four course meal which was plenty of food. Both of us had to order the four course dinner because of the timing of each course. Some of the dishes had so many flavours that they competed with each other. We also found all the extra plates of... More

Stumbled upon it, came back the next night for a second round. Nettle pasta, deconstructed lasagne, orange blossom dessert but the highlight for me was the rhubarb consommé. The flavours were exotically beautiful and it looked like something Chagall would have made, were he a chef. The service and atmosphere matched the food. Fond memories to take home. Worth every... We've been to Fork twice and the first visit was a big hit, but unfortunately the second visit did not did not get the same results. If Fork is on the food is great if not the food is good.

Perhaps a bit of food cult place. There is a four course prix fixe dinner or you can pick off the menu as we did. Elegant small pasta dishes and hors d oeuvres. Fascinating entrees. All feature organic grown produce from nearby. Priced in the top tier of bistros, but well worth it. Service was just a tad stately. A... More

For Mother's Day we visited for brunch (our fourth recent visit), so we explored the brunch menu. The salad greens on ginger creme fraiche were excellent, the creme fraiche providing a sweet counterpoint to some of the bitter spring greens in the medley. The cured pastrami on a biscuit with "sauce" was very good, but not as good as the... More
