The fun is the point at Moriarty's. It's a seriously fun place to go with good friends to just enjoy each other's company. Staff is AWESOME. Food isn't five-star (Shepherd's Pie has LAMB...Cottage Pie has hamburger!!), but it's very very tasty and I wouldn't change a thing. Well, other than the lamb vs. hamburger thing. But I can't imagine a... More

We stopped here after a Saturday matinee at the Walnut since there is a discount for subscribers, and we hadn't been here for years. The décor is pleasant, with Tiffany type ceiling lights and lots of eclectic stuff on the walls. I'd asked for a quiet spot and we were shown a table upstairs. If that is a quiet spot,... More

I made a brief, but delightful, stop in this more than inviting spot on my return from a long, and warm, morning at the National Independence Historic Park. The stop was on the walk leading back to my hotel. It was a Saturday afternoon and this place was really hoping with all sorts of people: young professional, locals, tourists (such... More

billed as the best when it comes to wings, i gave them a chance to prove it. i haven't ordered wings in years but several people told me about theirs' so what the heck. they did not disappoint. full size wings both spicey and sloppy just like they should be. a generous portion for a reasonable price served up by... So the philly cheese steak wasn't very good and the fries were cold but fun bar in center city. We should have gotten a Reuben or hamburger because they are known for them. The vodka gimlet with absolute was amazing!

On a recent vacation to Philly we chose our second day to do a selection of tourist sites and having walked for what seemed miles we were both parched and by chance happened to stumble into Moriarty's for a thirst quencher or two. Whilst slaking our thirst noticed the quality of soups being served to other customers so my wife... More

Having tried Moriarty's on our first trip to Philly a few years ago, when we found out that the baseball tour we were on this year would be visiting the Liberty Bell and other historic sites in that area, my wife and I decided to take the short stroll over to Moriarty's to see if it truly was as good... After a great show at the Forrest Theatre, we popped in to Moriarty's and stayed for several hours. It's like an old friend, kind of homey type of Irish pub. Great wings! There are harder to eat then the typical since they are "whole" wings and are sold by the pound. A great beer selection...most of us are Smithwicks fans.... More

Our hotel front desk clerk recommended Moriary's for Shepherd's Pie. My husband loves Shepherd's Pie. Moriarty's Shepherd's pie was mostly mashed potatoes and a little dry meat and vegetables underneath. I had the Irish beef stew. It was hearty and I was hungry, so it was good. The bar drinks were less expensive than expected. It was very crowded, noisy... More

We dined here with a group of 25. When we went in to the restaurant I noticed kind of a funky smell which made me a bit concerned and didn't exactly stimulate my appetite. We had several servers for our group and the one assigned to our table must have been really new because she couldn't answer even basic questions... More
