Great food in the heart of the city

Ate here with my husband and his friend after a day's walk of Philly. Perfect small bites that are rich in flavor. Just right for a meal that's not too filling. An adventure in tasty morsels.

Me and my wife stopped for a quick lunch,I had black bean soup, it was just okay. My wife had some sea food special and it was just okay.We think is was a little bit over priced, also with the drinks. The atmosphere was nice.Staff were great.

The ambience is great, the staff is nice and professional and the cocktails are really good. Finally a place in Philadelphia that served a decent Caipirinha. There's quite a good selection of drinks, although I tend to agree with other reviews that the portions are quite rich on ice and less on drink.

Just revisited Cuba Libre after not going for a couple of years. Portions were small and overpriced not to mention overcooked. I had the marinated shredded pork over mashed yucca and black beans. Had trouble finding the shredded pork in the dish. My husband had a steak dish which was tough and dry. Barely any steak on the plate here... More

We only recently got a Cuban restaurant in my hometown of Harrisburg, and it has piqued my desire for good Cuban food. Cuba Libre has a couple of locations on the east coast (Philly, Atlantic City, Washington DC and Orlando), so I hesitate to call it a 'chain' restaurant. The decor inside the restaurant here in Philly made you feel... More

Everything going for this place, a great atmosphere, attentive staff and good decor. Sadly let down by only one vegetarian choice on the menu - vegetable paella and this is rather uninspiring. Doubt I'll be returning as other restaurants have a better range and quality of foods.

I have worked nearby and never tried this place until today for lunch. Now I can't wait to go back. Great menu - very difficult to make a decision because so many things sound good. I finally decides on the chicken trio which included an empanada, chicken salad, and grilled chicken/plaintain. I ate and savored every bite! My colleague had... More

I used to be a regular here, but after moving, I didn't go for over 5 years. I recently went back, and nothing (except the staff and menu) had changed. The food was still amazing, and the staff was very friendly.

Cuba Libre has been a staple of the Old City for over a dozen years. With the constant churn of new restaurants in town, Cuba Libre has been consistently good. I enjoyed the Ropa Vieja with plantains, and the cuban guacamole for an appetizer. Their version of guacamole includes pineapples for a slightly sweet twist. The Ropa always tastes slow... More

Nice place, nice service, food for me was just ok, I've had better cuban food . Nothing was bad I've just have had better. Husband on the other hand, loved it. Honestly it is nice and I don't regret going but not amazed by the cuisine, since I wasn't blown away it was pricey....loved loved the bread and Pina colada.... More
