Fun place,tasty food, good service

Most of the food we had was very good. Atmosphere a real plus. Taste the sangria before ordering, we thought it poor. Cubango sandwich delicious.

I was entertaining a guest on Saturday and we headed to Old City. After passing the usual burger and cheesesteak joints we saw the menu for Cuba Libre. Wow - fantastic. The waiter, Zach, told us all about the different dishes and convinced us to try the Levanta Muerto Seafood Soup. Amazing. The grilled octopus on eggplant puree and spinach... More

This is the second time we went here and both times were top notch. Their guacamole is the best in Philadelphia and pairs beautifully with their fried plantains. Don't pass up the octopus, scallop ceveche or the skirt steak slider. We met a great bartender in Kenan who is excellent at his craft with great insites on the city. We... More

Ate there with a bunch of different people who all ordered different food. Everyone loved their meal. The waiter made some suggestions (he did push the appetizers and the speciality drinks which was kind of annoying) that were great like pairing a side of avocado with the vaca frita. There is a nice bar in a different room than the... More

It was too early in the day--lunchtime--to take full advantage of the rum bar, but the Old Havana atmosphere was fun and the food and service good. Cuban-accented dishes are a nice change of pace. This restaurant is an outpost of a small chain that also has restaurants in Washington, DC, Orlando, and Atlantic City, NJ.

We went out for dinner with friends on a Sunday night. I had not been to Cuba Libre in many years, but remembered the great look and feel of the place. The menu is very appetizing and everything looks great, but overall the food was good, not great. Entree portions seemed a little small for the price. (Maybe average for... More

Great concept but the food never fails to disappoint. Guillermo has great ideas but the food is never executed properly . Like never. I know he can cook. I just don't think he does anymore.

We stopped here while walking around Old City Philadelphia. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Must try the seafood soup and the pineapple guacamole!

I love Cuba Libre. My husband and I go whenever we can or if we have friends and family come in to town. They always have great promotions. The service is excellent once you get past the GATE KEEPER aka the nasty hostess who over values her job. The food is always consistently excellent and trying new menu items never... More

Have not been to Cuba but I felt that I was in South Beach. Stopped in for a late lunch and ate off the appetizer & tapas menu. Did not disappoint when paired with a couple of rum drinks. The décor is very cool. Worth a stop if you are looking for something different. Wish we could have gone back... More
