Come for the guac & tuna but expect weak mojitos

I came here with my girlfriend during restaurant week. The guac with pineapple was incredible and I would recommend coming here just for that! I tried the yellow tail tuna and was very satisfied. If Cuba Libre has something going for them it is certainly the guac and the tuna. One thing that... read more

Compared to any hole in the wall Cuban joint in Maimi or Tampa, this food is not remarkable. It is a nice enough place, and the food is OK. But there are so many good restaurants in Philly, why come here? They do have good drinks, but again there are a lot of fine bars around there.

We have dined at Cuba Libre several times in the past, and this was by far the WORST meal we have ever had here. The ceviche tasted like cicada ship cocktail, our octopus was served luke warm, and the cubans was served missing parts! Even the drinks were poorly made, and not promptly served. What a shame !

We were fortunate to get quick seating on a Saturday night where we enjoyed some Tapas as an appetizer, entrees and drinks. The tapas was the best part of meal where each of our 4 choices was outstanding. The entrees were very good, They were authentic, comprised of wonderful flavors and the size of the dishes was respectable. The service... More

We had a dinner before a concert here today. Liked just about everything about the place. Prompt, but not hurried service, nice decor, excellent food. Somewhat expensive, but well worth the money. Our son had a seafood paella, my wife and I had tapas. We split an order of empenadas and a flight of ceviches. My wife and I split... More

I'll start by saying I'm a go with the flow type guy...that being said: Reservations are guidelines. You need to ask your server to take your order. Be sure to specify if you don't want your proteins killed ten times over before being plated. Bring your own water. Mojitos are good.

Having recently dined at the Cuba Libre in Orlando and having a such a nice meal, we decided to try the one in Philadelphia as we are not far from there, hoping this dining experience would be as great as our last one in Florida. Well, it did not disappoint! Glad we made a reservation as it was packed. We... More

Ate and drank to our heart's content. Lovely apps....great wine and drinks at our happy hour visit. Sliders, empanadas, guac and salads were too satisfying! Wanted everything. Can't wait to go back for dinner. Bartender extremely attentive.

Christmas Eve, we had reservations, upon check-in we were told the kitchen was closing, and were seated promptly. The restaurant was indeed somewhat empty but still, plenty of patrons. Our server arrived and it was clear she was drunk, hard to understand anything she said. She did however made it known that the kitchen was closing ( yes thank you,... More

After not visiting for a few years, we were happy that Cuba Libre lived up to our memories. The outdoor Cuban setting is a fun get-away on a cold night, the mojitos go down to easily, and the chef has a knack for perfectly seasoned food. We had the mojo shrimp and incredibly tender and flavorful skirt steak, and appreciated... More
