It's good to be back home and enjoy real French food. Can't wait to visit again and try the creambrulee.
My wife and I have enjoyed this restaurant for several years, actually since an accomplished chef and his wife opened it. We were worried when they moved over to start a new restaurant (they did retain ownership ). But atlas no worries, it is a fine and fun as ever. Now we have only gone to the Sunday pre fixe.... More
An absolute must for foodies. I had the Fois Gras duo (both generous portions) and the Duck. The latter was particularly tender, and cooked to perfection, with a delicious red wine sauce. Service (a delightful gentleman from Stuttgart), was impeccable. Just remember to bring your own wine and cash! (The only negative was finding parking, but we found spaces on... More
Philly has a number of French bistros, all different styles. Bibou leans toward more classic style in terms of richness, but not overly heavy. I never pass up an invitation as reservations have to be made well in advance.
My wife and I live all of 35 miles from Center City but planned on spending the weekend in town after a Friday night show at the Kimmel Center. We somehow snagged a Sunday night reservation at Bibou on OT just two nights in advance. Everything about our meal confirmed why Bibou was on the top of my list of... More
My wife and I enjoyed the chef's tasting menu for my birthday dinner. Outstanding food: fresh, plentiful, imaginative, and satisfying. Staff is attentive and friendly, patiently explaining the ingredients. The tasting menu is a great value and allows you to try a range of dishes. Byob makes it even better. Foie gras, whole Bronzino, venison terrine, mushroom soup, wild boar... More
One of the best in Philly which has become a great foodie city Menu was among the most interesting I have ever seen Perpetration was perfect as was the service Is a BYOB which does put a lid on the costs.
Loved the small charming feel of this restaurant. Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Only thing, I was surprised there was no salad on the menu. The waiter said they could fix us one if we wanted; but since it was not on the menu, I just decided not to special order. It was a real treat to go to this... More
What a great restaurant. Small, friendly, quiet, food cooked to perfection. I have visited four or five times and every meal has been great. Prices are reasonably. BYOB. Doesn't get any better than this.
Just ate at Bibou and although Pierre is now manning the kitchen at Le Cheri, Chef Ron did an outstanding job. The food was just as delicious and the staff, especially Hans and Yuki, were,as usual, warm, friendly and professional. Always worth a visit. The quenelles, foie gras, bone marrow and pheasant were outstanding. We also ate at Le Cheri... More
