Awesome beer list!

Monks has an exceptional beer list with full descriptions if you're unsure of what something is. My husband had the red light mussels that were delicious! I had the Antwerp burger and that was very good as well! The prices are more than fair. The atmosphere is noisy so its not a place for a quiet... read more

Fabulous set of beers and dinner at the back-bar (just keep walking to the back) after a Philadelphia Orchestra concert. Definately for the beer lovers...try their sour ale.

I like dives. And Monk's falls into the category. But while dim light,a little wear and tear and a little seediness can go a long way toward making a bar inviting, downright filth does not. First the good. Monk's is indeed dim, well-worn, cozily laid out, and very, very down to earth. A mixed crowd. A good selection of Belgian... More

A half dozen of us stopped by about 9PM after dining elsewhere; we came here for some Belgium beer. Interestingly, when we arrived we were told that the few tables they had were all for dinning use only, not fir customers interested only in beverages. However, they decided to make an exception and allowed us to enjoy our beverages at... More

Monk's is deservedly known for their extensive beer selection. Reading the entire book will take a while. Their volume and reputation provide some of the beers that are more difficult to acquire; you may have to time your visit appropriately to get your favorite. Going back to get the 'next up' isn't a bad thing! Mussels are flavorful and served... More

Local pub, crowded, lively, noisy, just the place you want to be for a reasonable lunch or dinner. We were there on a Friday night and by the time we left there was standing room only at the bar. The place was full of happy people. We all had mussels and tried several different beers all recommended by our server.... More

Of course, great beer list. That's what keeps them coming back! Thoroughly enjoyed Russian River on tap. No extra special stuff currently in house, and I wonder how often they really do get it... The mussels were fantastic.

If you appreciate a good, sometimes hard to find beer, this is the place to go. Hundreds of bottles and a nice selection of tap beers from all over the world. There are two bars, both pretty small, and it does get packed. Food is amazing. We got here on a Saturday night around 8 or so and were lucky... More

Went with my sons for dinner and drinks. Mussels and the Belgian beer selection go well together. The selection of Christmas draft beers was outstanding and the wait staff very helpful. It was a Friday night and very busy. Plan on a few drinks in the bar before seating on a busy night. Squint and you are in Brussels.

This is the second time I eat at Monk's and both times has been exceptional. Had frog legs, veal cheeks, mussels a la Provence, Mac and Cheese.... Everything was perfect. Beer menu is actually a book. There more beers than in a supermarket. Service kind of slow at the beginning but I would go back here and also highly recommended... More
