Greta placate eat in Philly

Listed as "one of the top 5 place"s in the world to have a beer".Amazing selection of over 300 beer's ,as well as some unique stuff on tap.The place is small with 2 separate bars and eating area's,but this only adds to the overall experience. We opened with mussels and a nice IPA. Next we went on to have some... More

I took my brother-in-law here for a couple pints and some frittes. Monk's is billed as the best beer bar in Philadelphia, and in many ways it deserves that title. Monk's maintains a strong line of Belgian beers. It's their cornerstone. They also branch out into some of the more high-end craft brews. Their beer books have taken quite a... More

What a fantastic bar. The beers are obviously a drawing factor but there's much more to there than the beer. The mussels were awesome, the service was great & the atmosphere was inviting. My husband & I sat at the bar, very cozy & were not made to feel rushed to leave. It was lovely.

Friend recommended to go and so happy we did. Liked it so much, returned following afternoon, slushing 20 blocks through ice and snow (yes, it was worth it). Great selection of draft and bottled beers and the burgers and mussels were outstanding. Waitstaff very knowledgeable and very pleasant. A comfortable old historical building with wooden booths and a well stocked... More

It was awesome to get to monks and have a Pliny the Younger by Russian River brewing! Such a rare beer especially over here in philly! Waited about 20 minutes. Besides excellent beer choices and events, their food is amazing ! Get their mussels ! They do it right!

This place is much bigger than it looks from the outside. Three different rooms, all of them meagerly decorated, but you come here for drinks and food anyway. Beer list is impressive, and food selections are spot on to go with it. Overhead music ranges from college rock to heavy rock, but it all encompasses perfectly. Staff was very helpful... More

So here's the thing about Monk's...You're gonna have to wait for a table. HOWEVER, once you GET a table, it's completely worth the wait. If you like beer (and I mean REALLY like beer) then you'll be in the right place at Monk's...Their food, though, is excellent as well (especially the grilled duck salad and the mussels). When I visited... More

This place is nothing special to look at but the beer selection is otherworldly and the food excellent! Had the Brooklyn Chocolate Stout . . . so good! For lunch had the scallop appetizer, pulled pork sandwich and fries. All were outstanding. Service was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back when in Philadelphia.

If you are craving Belgian beers in philly, Monk's is the place to go. Their selection of drafts change often and their long list of bottles is impressive. Their food is good too. My favorite is Thai curry mussels. It may sound unusual but I always feel like drinking the last bit of broth.
