I hadn't been to Monks for... Oh, easily 15 years, until I walked by on a recent chilly afternoon , saw it, and decided I had to go in. The place seems frozen in time: same dog-eared , thick bottled beer menu; same oaky dark environment and finest rare selection of Belgian brews on tap. They don't even have wifi.... More

Great place to take friends in order to experience the heart of what Philly has to offer. Plenty of food and drinks to try.

Unreal beer selection, they even have a house beer brewed for them in Flanders. Food is good, definitely get the mussels.

I have been to Monk's a number of times, whenever I run the marathon in Philly. The beer selection, especially Belgians, is top notch. Their choice of craft beers is also impressive as I can always find something I haven't had before. For food we had their very hot wings, roast chicken and a pasta dish. Everything was delicious and... More

mussels were excellent and beer menu had many beers from all over. Very unique beers for all over U.S.. Nice crisp order of fries comes with mussels. 6 different mussel marinades to choose from.

Beer, Mussels, Frites, and busy atmosphere. Crowded and deservedly so. Reach out and try the beef cheeks, duck salad and smoked trout. Worth a wait and test of patience for a seat at a table or the bars.

OK - if you want the run of the mill beer with your dinner don't come here. They had the most amazing, exotic selection of beers but Miller, Budweiser and the rest of the crew were not here. The steamed mussels are amazing, all mussels should be offered paired with such tasty offerings. And the sea scallops melted in the... More

If you are a beer lover, this is a must see. If there are more brands of beer served anywhere I would be surprised. Some of the beers are like fine French wines and $60.00 a bottle price tags to match. The food is fast and tasty but essentially bar food. It is very convenient to all center city hotels.... More

Monk's Café is a Philly fave, so we had been meaning to try it for awhile. Glad we did! Great beer list, fun atmosphere, in a great location. Food was good (portions could be a bit bigger, but what I had was delicious). My husband and I just beat the crowd and were able to get a table for 2,... More
