Always solid!

Spasso's is one of those unpretentious places. But the food here is always excellent! The menu offers a wide selection of Italian-style dishes and there's usually at least one special that makes you say

During a business trip, I came here by myself for a very early dinner (4 pm) when the restaurant was empty. I had read some reviews, and the restaurant is walking distance from the Hilton where I was staying. I was not seeking fine dining, but rather a reasonable-quality meal. I've had my fair share of Italian in NYC, San... More

Hosted a business dinner event here for 28 people. This was my second time visiting, the first time in spring with 15 people for dinner. Everything is top notch. The service is fantastic and they let us order straight from the menu. The dishes were served perfectly hot and on time for having such a large group. Wonderful wine list... More

The menu is not huge, but has quite a few interesting dishes. For example, there are 3 different kinds of gnocchi on the menu-- one without red sauce which is quite unusual. I had the Penne Spasso. It was nicely al dente and had just the right amount of cream for me. My son liked the Pesto Fettuccine. My husband... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant early on a Sunday evening in March 2015; we were in town from Baltimore for a concert. It was recommended to us by friends who frequent Philly. We had the bar area to ourselves and our bartender, Claudia, was exceptional! She was insanely knowledgeable about the entire menu - giving us great detail... More

Overall Spasso's food did not live up to our expectations. The tomatoes in caprese were pink in color and very tough. Mussels were full of sand and rendered the entire $25 dish virtually inedible, as the sand spread into the pasta. When we asked the server to let the kitchen know about this, she said that according to the chef,... More

Fantastic pasta with authentic gravy and antipasto. We really enjoy the fresh bread with complimentary vegetable/oil dipping sauce. My extremely picky Italian family loves this place each time they visit Old City.

I stumbled into this place, which is minutes away from Penn's Landing and Sugarhouse Casino. It's one of the finest Italian restaurants I've been to. I've sampled the menu, taken friends here numerous times and not once has anyone had a bad thing to say about this place. The sauces are spectacular and the pasta is perfect. For the amount... More

My boyfriend and I went for dinner tonight, I'm not one to write reviews but was so happy with this restaurant I just had to! We just each got a dinner, no appitizer or anything and we walked out of there beyond full. Very nice portions, and to top it off our waitress was so polite and very accomadating! Our... More
