A handsome, dramatic restaurant, with an 11 foot gold Buddha looming over the dining room. The atmosphere is relaxed but special: fellow diners were wearing everything from a sweatshirt to a ballgown, and everyone seemed comfortable! We finally got to Buddakan, a restaurtant that had been highly recommended to us. The main room is lovely, but we were placed upstairs in a very noisy alcove. The service was unconnected, meaning the wait staff seemed professional, but not engaged. (There was too little eye contact.) I just went last night with a group of collegues for a work dinner out. I was nervous because this was my call for the dinner plans. Thankfully EVERYONE loved it. We went there for our aniversary. Was expecting to be blown away by this place. It turns out that the food is nothing special. Overpriced compared to many of the other fine asian restaraunts in the city. Overall, not bad, but not great more

We have dined at Buddakan a number of times now. The food is very good, and reasonable for an upscale restaurant. the service is friendly and helpful with the menu. The shrimp dish with walnuts was outstanding as were the spring rolls and the dim sum donuts for dessert, everything else was very good too. I got the guilt drink... more

I have now been to Buddakan twice, and it has been superb both times. The service on the last visit was not as great as the first visit.
