Nice night out

Fun place. Interesting and funky decor. Food and service was good. Liked the salads and dim sum. Shrimp Pad Thai was nothing to write home about. All and all, a good restaurant.

Second time for lunch on business . Everything was very tasty and food was great too . A little slow on some of the servings but overall a very good experience . Very busy and noisy so not intimate or romantic spot!

Buddakan is where you go when you want a cool atmosphere, are in zero rush, and someone else is picking up the tab. The space itself is nice (although it can get loud). The food is definitely good and there are some creative items on the menu. But nothing we had was really worth the price, except maybe the Bento... More

I was at Buddakan in the 80's (?) as I recall when it first opened - could have been 90's...whatever... the point is that it was cutting edge, creative, really different, the place to see and be seen - and food was really good and unique - the staff knew it - people came to be treated to new ways... while staying in Philly for a conference we decided to stroll over to Buddakan. At first I wasn't sure - based on its name - is it Asian fusion? is it sushi? surprised to read the menu and find plenty of small sharing plates which is perfect for us. We had delicious fish plates, tempura veggie plates and even shared... More

We decided to not take their lunchtime Bento special for $20 and instead went off a la carte. Big Mistake! The portions are appetizer size and yet all around $25 with no sides. Also the quality albeit acceptable, is truly nothing special and hence creates disappointment. We definitely left hungry and yet we spent almost $100 the two of us... More

Food was good, service was good, atmosphere good. Cost not so good. I was disappointed at the cost for 2 people. 2 Appetizers, 2 entrees, pitcher of sangria 280.00. Special occasion yeah but not for a regular Sunday out. Its basically Chinese food that is served PRETTY!

Went to Buddakan for the first time last week for lunch. We all had the prix fixe with choices of 3 items. We were all thrilled. The dumplings were superb as were the lamb chops. Salads were inventive and the fish dishes extraordinary. We all truly enjoyed it. The décor is lovely and offers a peaceful setting. The service was... More

We had dinner at Buddakan on April 8th. This was our first visit. The food was great. We had the crunchy calamari salad. We got the small (at the recomendation of our waitress) to share. It was fantastic and although the small was adequate, I could have eaten the large...it was just so good. We shared the dim sung sampler... More
