My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely incredible. We tried the toro tartare, wagyu carpaccio, and 10-hour pork for appetizers, and my husband said that pork belly was the single best bite he has ever eaten. The chef selection sushi was wonderful and the entree we shared was also great. The matcha tres... More

Probably some of the best sushi/sashimi in all of Phlly ... but it does come at a price. As a Starr restaurant, the wine list is very pricey. The omikase is indeed delicious, but you get the same omikase for lunch for almost half the price (so try it at lunch!).

This is the best Japanese food experience I've ever had. Friends had sushi which they said was great. I'm not a big sushi eater but the few pieces i had were fresh and above average. I had the Seafood Toban Yaki and found the huge scallops, other seafood, and broth to be incredible. The Morimoto martini, made with sake and... More

Very nice restaurant, excellent service, food is beautifully presented but the taste is.... well.... average. How best to describe this.... lots of expensive ingredients used... but when all mixed together, the taste of the expensive bits are... well... hidden... the spice, the tastes, overpowering, for example, excellent fresh Irish oysters, can't taste them, only taste the lemon or whatever they... While you will surely pay for good food, it is SO worth it! The best thing about this place is the Omakase - a must try if you go. It is a several course meal of the chef's choosing. Every course is a delight in the mouth - an experience I will never forget.

The decor was very fancy. Won't have known that it was a restaurant unless someone told us. The dry aged steak was so good, my daughter who is picky ate most of it and didn't leave me a bite.

In honor of my now-husband's completion of his doctoral thesis, we splurged on an Omakase dinner at Morimoto. Our menus were largely different (catering to our dietary preferences) but we still could have shared bites. However, our meals were so delectable that we wanted to hoard and gobble them up by ourselves. :) While each dish was spectacular in taste,... More

For the most past, we were really wowed by this restaurant. The decor and its changing colors is so much fun; cool, clean and contemporary! We enjoyed the scallops appetizer and absolutely loved the sushi! Granted, this place is expensive, but if you want something this special it comes at a price. After a fabulous meal we were a little... More

Weirdly interesting decor. Haughty service. We had one of the tasting menus and left before we finished it. My wife could not stand the noise. People were yelling at each other to try to talk over the music. It would make a nice "special occasion" place if you had in-laws you really hate.
