Morimoto is very good. The service we had was excellent, actually the best I've ever had (Wish I could recall the gentleman's name). I am not a sushi eater so I went with the steak which is very good. One of my family members who eats sushi said the sushi was outstanding. My other two family... read more

We walked in on a Friday night and they were booked but sent us upstairs where they also had table service. I was disappointed because the place looked so interesting when we walked in but the upstairs room was also lovely and welcoming. Descriptions of the food were somewhat obscure but the server was helpful. Not the best Asian food... More

Oh what a night! Amazing ambience (so super cool). Felt like a rock star. The food was outstanding and the service was amazing! We were a group of 5 and enjoyed the waiters recommendations throughout! Standouts.....the toro tuna, ice fish and pear martini! And dessert was out of this world...we all ordered a different one and sampled. Fun night out... More

My wife and I keep going back to this great Stephen Starr restaurant just to order their black cod. It has an unbelievable flavor that will make you a fan of this great seafood dish. Their sushi appetizers are also excellent. The dining room has a wonderful atmosphere and is perfect for a pre-theater dinner with the Walnut Street and... More

This is my 3rd visit to the Philly Morimoto's, 2 of which was truly memorable (the other was also very good). We went there on President's Day weekend. The Omakase was fantastic, as usual. For me, I went with 3 server recommendations, 2 of which were great. Stay away Kobe Beef Carpaccio; I found it somewhat disappointing. But the Duck,... More

I know this place gets rave reviews for the food, which really is excellent, and very sophisticated. The service was terrific. But the prices are high, and the portions are tiny. And unfortunately, the trendy, contemporary decor, with plastic booth walls that change from one unappetizing color to another, the noisy atmosphere coupled with annoying music was completely off-putting. We... More

I expected to drop a lot more $$ at this restaurant than we did given Morimoto is a big name. At $60, the chef's choice sushi was plenty for two and we paired it with an amazing drink (the nashi blossom) and dessert of a sorbet trio. The quality is exactly what I would expect: the sushi melted in our... More

For a special occasion we went here for the 8 course Omakase menu (chef tasting). We did the version with more elaborate ingredients - supposed to be the best Wahyhu beef, the best oysters, the highest level fatty tuna etc...It was a fun food adventure, but... In the end, for the price, we will not need to repeat the experience... More

The service was great. Our waiter and all the food runners were attentive, polite, and efficient. The food was delicious. We like to try different food and enjoyed the options very much. We selected the chef's choice tasting menu and also some al a carte items. The roasted bone marrow was one of the highlights for us as it was... More

This the type of restaurant you go to for celebrations, anniversaries etc. The decor and ambiance is trendy. The prices are relatively high but it is good sushi. We got an appetizer called rock shrimp which was out of this world. The warm sake was pretty good.
