I just received an email asking about my experience at Le Bec Fin. The food was very good but the chef/owner was beyond haughty. His behavior was disruptive and offensive. The restaurant only has about 30 tables which are arranged in two rows in a narrow (gorgeous) dining room. The unprofessional frenchman strutted the aisle every 10 minutes terrorizing the... more

The reviews I read before going to Le Bec Fin seemed to be mixed. I found the food to be fantastic, if the crowd did lean towards the pretentious-bluehair end of the spectrum. If you are lucky enough to go in the end of October-November, you should get the black-truffle risotto with white truffles shave on top. The best thing... more

It's restaurant week and we decided to try Le Bec Fin. Although I will pay for good food, I just haven't decided to pay for Le Bec Fin. So what better way to try it then on a week where my meal is only $35? The food was good. Did it overwhlem me? No, but it was prepared well, it... more

Le Bec Fin: Aggressively ostentatious; pedestrian dishes poorly prepared but over-described! The foie gras was chicken liver, not goose or duck, and overdone and watery as frozen liver tends to be. The veal chop was not served to order it was overdone, then served sliced allowing it to cool and lose its juices. The sirloin steak (suspiciously NOT prime) was... more

During the week days Le Bec Fin offers a prefix menu which we decided to try. The food was fabulous and the wait staff was extremely attentive, but not hovering. Our waiter was knowledgeable and humerous, and took the time to offer his suggestions and explain some of the names on the menu. I especially enjoyed the beet salad and... more

This place is so overpriced it is offensive. It is like they live on another planet. Sure the food is good. But it is certainly not worth this price. Just go to Whole Foods, buy some fresh ingredients, get someone with a fake french accent, and volia--Le Bec Fin--without the pretension or wallet cleaning. Time for them to shut down... more

I guess the last star counts for the service. The dover sole was unblievable, the sommelier was missing, the staff runs around like chickens with their heads off. At times seem very unorganized. The food is still great, i miss the 12 course meal, but the price was still $$$$. seems more chaotic then elegant. will try someone else from... more

Check your bill!! Le Bec Fin overcharged me $100 on dinner for 4 and did not even apologize., Service at Le Bec Fin has really slipped, We have been going there for 20 years and it has always been one of our very favorite Philadelphia restaurants -- one where we knew we could take guests and we would all have... more
