We were a large group that reserved ahead of time with a fixed menu. Every item, from appetizer to dessert was delicious and presentation was great. The service was equally excellent, and although another group was waiting for our table (and we were a few minutes late finishing up) we were not rushed out of the restaurant. Would definitely recommend... more

well worth a trip if you are in Philly. Great bar menu with some unique mixed drinks to start with. Food had a lot of variety, though the ceviche options were lost on us. Steak was good, though a little more well done on the outside than I prefer. Staff were very helpful, from being flexible with changing reservation time... more

My husband and I visited Philadelphia and wanted to go somewhere nice for our anniversary. The ambience at Alma de Cuba was great. The service was also excellent. The food was pretty good. We had the 3 ceviche tasting menu. All very good, especially the lobster ceviche. It didn't seem like traditional-style ceviche but it was very tasty. We had... more

Not the typical Cuban restaurant I'm used to in Miami and North Jersey, I just visited this restaurant on 10/11/09 after reading a review on gophila Not what I expected at all. The dining room is a cocktail lounge with small cocktail tables, the food is not the typical Cuban food I expected. It is over priced for the small... more

we were really excited to take our out of country guests to this restaurant as they really appreciate food and cooking and cuban food is less prevalent in their country. we found dinner to be a mixed bag. we started with the 5 ceviche sampler. some were good, others just ok but nothing that compared to the fresh ceviche you... more

I was hesitant to choose this restaurant as I'd heard many people talk about Stephen Starr places being all flash and no substance. I'm very thankful that I ignored these critics as Alma de Cuba was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time and I look forward to returning when I'm next in Philly. As... more

The store front was so inviting, a tropical white, that we had to peek inside. Don't let the lound music in the foyer chase you away -- it's quieter inside. The bar area is an edgy black and red but the small dining room is a sultry evening in old Havana. Larger then life slides of Cuban faces are projected... more
