Alma de Cuba is a beautiful place. It feels a bit rhetro but also very glamourous. The lighting is romantic. The mojitos are delicious and the food is good. I was there with a group but Alma de Cuba would make a great date place.

Alma de Cuba offers a nice menu of options that are reasonably well prepared. While the overall quality of food is well above your "average" fine-dining restaurant, there is a certain "standardized taste" to the dishes that keep this restaurant from being one that is suitable for true foodies. It is perhaps the somewhat simplified pallet of flavors that is... More

Lovely little find with great food and cozy, warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly and great with meal suggestions. The menu has some great choices (try the skirt steak, its fantastic), and the white sangria was excellent. Would definitely return here.

The bar and wait staff had very good recommendations on beverages and food. We listened to them and were not disappointed. The house specials are worth sampling - appetizers and mains. We were with a party of six - seating was a little tight but all were pleased with the night. Service was attentive and not rushed.

Visiting Philadelphia and had a late dinner here on our first night. Food was delicious, we tried the Empanada De Verde, Rum Cured Duck Breast and some of the specials. I highly recommend ordering a side of Tostones With Garlic Mojo, they were crispy and just right in terms of sour/ salty. The ambiance and design is also very appealing.... More

Went to Alma de Cuba this past Saturday evening and had a fantastic evening. Group of four, first time for two of us and second time for the other two. The ceviche was outstanding. You can choose each one separately or try multi-style samplers. We chose the 3 samples for $28. Had the Ecuadorian Shrimp, Lenguado El Fuego and Thai... More

The food and service were very good. The waiter made good suggestions. The only thing we noticed was that they really rushed us. We came early so we could catch a movie afterward and we believe they must have been anxious for us to go to turn the tables. Also, I mentioned we were celebrating 2 birthdays but there was... More

Visited recently with friends for after dinner drinks and dessert. Sat in the bar area. Fun place. Good looking crowd, with some interesting "people watching." My recommendation is they have lists of the aged rums and other higher-end liquors that they carry. I enjoy sipping a nice rum, neat, and the waitress had no idea what they carried, let alone... Good thing I don't live in Philly because I might go there for happy hour every night. The mojito's are outstanding and all the appetizer's equally good. $5 drinks and apps in Philly! On Walnut Street! Can't get any better. The happy hour crowd was comprised mostly of 20 somethings. But they seem to know the best places with the... More

Inconsistent service. Inconsistent alcohol content in drinks. Sometimes absent servers. But solid food and ambience every singly time is consistently better than anywhere else in the City of Philadelphia. Their happy hour is the best value.
