Description: Opa is a new Modern Greek restaurant and bar located in Center City's Midtown Village neighborhood. The menu features a fresh take on traditional Greek flavors. Featured items from the mezedes (small plates) include herbed keftedes (meatballs) in a ouzo-tomato sauce, octopus and spinach croquettes served with a smokey feta dip. Large plates offer a variety of items such as striped bass and pastitsio. The signature cocktail list and Greek wine selection offer the perfect complement to your meal. Acclaimed designer, Jun Aizaki/Creme, created an alluring setting which includes a striking birch branch canopy. Walk-in seating is available at the 24 seat bar and offers the full menu.

We found this restaurant after the one we had planned to go to was too crowded and noisy. The menu looked very good and the ambiance was nice so we took a chance. Immediately, we were seated and our server came right over. I had the grilled octopus and my husband had the vegetable bread. Both were delicious. Then my... More

Our group of 4 shared about 10 small plates. Some items were delicious, but we thought the dips were just OK. But the service was good and we got seated right away. And the bill adds up quick, since you tend to order so many dishes.

I've been here for both dinner and the bar scene. Overall food was decent, but a little pricey. Their selection of summer cocktails was just right for the season and I recommend most of them - I don't think one person was disappointed with their choice. As for the bar scene, this place becomes an entirely different spot after 10... More

I just moved to Philadelphia from New York City. I have lived in Manhattan in Greenwich Village for 20 years. I am used to having local haunts and am searching for them here. I am undecided about Opa. I have been twice in the last couple of days. Both times were late afternoon. I had wine and a mezede. I... More

Very interesting decor. Very good service. Excellent lunch menu. I had the eggplant and olive spreads. Very generous portion. Serve with vegetables and Pita. And like that the waiter brought some more Pita to me on his own and I had more bread then to use with the abundant spreads. The octopus was excellent and tender. The spinach croquettes were... More

I shared dinner after a conference with some friend and we had made reservations for dinner after unsuccessfully being seated her the previous night. I order the pasticcio and was really disappointed with the dish. One of my friends ordered lamb chops, med rare, and was told that they are always served that way. Yet when they were served, there... Never would have thought of pairing watermelon and feta in a salad but it was amazing-the feta complimented the sweetness of the watermelon. . For main course I had the special of shrimp with fettuccine-just wonderful. Sauce was so good and shrimp perfectly cooked. Husband had the pork skewers with oregano fries and the white bean soup. Both were excellent.... More

our group of 10 celebrated a birthday her. one of us is Greek and fussy (well, a few of us are fussy but thats another story). she was very pleased. The food ranged from good to excellent. We tried a lot of things...the pasticio was excellent, the lemon potatoes devine. The meatballs were very popular, as was the Feta Olive... More

Decided to stop by for a couple drinks...the drinks were going great until I saw the mouse running around the restaurant. I alerted the bartender who shrugged and commented "well, you're always going to have one running around." Really?! Cuz I go to a lot of bars and restaurants and I've never seen a mouse running around! I've been here... More
