Unique Greek Cuisine

We dined there last week with another couple. The food and service were excellent. However the portions are extremely small. For example, the grilled calamari, while extremely delicious, was about four bites of food.

I like this place, I wish I felt it deserved four stars but it just missed the mark a little for me. I didn't have anything that was not good but I thought the dolmathes were just ok (this is spiced ground beef wrapped in grape leaves, my first time having it) The gyros were good but you get two... We went to this restaurant pre-show, since it is close to the Forrest Theater. We loved the small plates of delicious Greek food. The beet salad, the tzatziki, spanakopita, just great fun sharing among 4 people. Very nice service, especially, since we kept asking for one more plate of this and maybe one more plate of that! Nice wine selection.... More

We had an enjoyable early dinner dining on small plates with good flavor. The two of us shared five plates and especially liked the beet salad, the Brussel sprouts salad and the mushroom ravioli. Service was friendly and attentive. Good spot

We went intending to out out to McGillans or Bru next door but they were packed so we all of a sudden noticed this really nice patio area. They had gas fire places, heaters, plenty of seating, reasonably good beer selection, attentive outdoor bartenders and very reasonable prices for Center City. I would definitely hang out here again. We didn't... More

Loved the food and the place is very cool. Love the décor and the staff were very attentive. We got almost everything on the menu, we were a group of 9.

Food quality was mixed. Pasta was way undercooked (mushroom ravioli). Lamb, Brussels sprouts, calamari, sardines, stuffed cabbage, stuffed grape leaves all fine but nothing special. One pays extra here for being in an "in" place. Packed. Very LOUD. Service is just okay. Long waits often for things often forgotten (20-25 minutes for a second drink or glass of wine) seemed... First impressions of this restaurant are misleading, since it's a no frills kind of place. The decor isn't much to look at although the food is very good. They offer both small and full plates of Greek crusine at reasonable prices. Highly recommend getting the whole fish entree.

For some reason, I keep coming back. I simply see Opa as a great bar in Center City. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. The food is decent. The atmosphere is plain, unassuming, yet intimate and modern. It’s not really trying to be anything, and in Center City where every restaurant is trying hard to fit a very specific type... More
