Great tapas in a warm and cozy restaurant

Weeknight meal in the smallish, well decorated eatery. Menu offers a blend of small and large plates with salads in between. We ordered a smattering. Nice wine list, clever cocktails and sangria. Friendly waiter, knew the menu well and made good recommendations - so good. Loved the anchovy... read more

Excellent small plates, seafood, and paella. The warms dates were fantastic!! Good drinks and a fun place to spend with friends! The only negative was that it was a little loud, but otherwise a great restaurant.

Casual atmosphere, with subdued lighting (not overly done). They didn't have ginger beer (for my wife's Moscow Mule), but the bartender made his own ginger beer with fresh ginger and ginger ale - - turned out to be the best Mule my wife has had. Oh, back to the food - - we were a family of 5 and ordered... More

I have been here twice and both occasions were great. So what should you know in advance… - At night this place is easy to find. The bar area is full of red lighting - The staff are particularly friendly… the most friendly I have found anywhere in Philly - If you are Gluten free, they will help you chose... More

Dined late on a Sunday Evening after a concert at the Prince Theater Razz Room. Service was amazing and attentive. Great dining suggestions from both the waiter and the bartender. Albondagas were delicious, as were the scallops and the Manchego Croquettes. highly recommend!

We had dinner at La Jamonera. It is a nice place, we sat at the bar and the atmosphere was nice. It was crowded and I guess it's better to book in advance. I was a bit disappointed by the size of the portions. I think that it is over priced for what it is, but the quality of food... More

If you are downtown Philadelphia and you are looking for a cozy and cute and intimate place to eat Jamonera is the place to be. Located on 13th street this place is near everything. Portions are bigger than tapas but smaller than regular dishes. I would recommend two if you are just hungry. The taste is amazing! try octopus, skirt... More

I was visiting Philadelphia to attend a convention downtown and was just walking down 13th from the convention center when I found Jamonera. It looked like an interesting bistro/bar, so I went in, sat at the bar and ordered a meal. I love octopus and when I saw grilled octopus (Pulpo Ajillo) on the menu I couldn't resist. It was... More

This is a lovely place to spend an evening. The food was very good though not amazing. The bacon wrapped dates, for example, were disappointing (though plentiful) as was the tortilla espanola. The sundae on the dessert menu, while tasty, was the sweetest thing I have ever encountered--a bit overwhelming.

We got to this place totally by accident. I'm really glad we did. It was real treat, from hamon iberico ang eggplant fries to churros. Gosh, those churros were so good and pretty much did not differ from the ones I had while in Barcelona. Also the staff was quite friendly.
