A real treat!! Great selections, huge portions and fantastic ice cream! Worth the wait. Good place to stop on way out of convention center.

This ice cream is very good. It was nice to know that this establishment is still run by Basset family members after all these years. This counter is always very busy, but they are fast, efficient and friendly.

Oldest ice cream shop in the US. Rich, creamy and delicious. The pistachio on a cake cone is memorable. Tried the vanilla, truly the best vanilla ever!

what else can you say. the creamiest ice cream ever. Loved the large variety of flavors and the multiple portion size options. A must stop when at the Reading Terminal. Leave room for desert!

We visited on Thursday, February 27, 2014 around noon. Excellent, high fat, creamy ice cream! I had butter pecan in a cup and my wife had moosetracks in a cake cone. Bother were very creamy and delicious. The feel in your tongue is soft. I have had this ice cream in years past and it is still the best in... More

This ice cream is the richest creamiest ice cream ever. We have been fans since the 1970's when we used to eat (the two of us) a quart at one seating. We can no longer do that - much as we would love to - but the ice cream is just so wonderful. Since we no longer live close to... More

This place blows away all the "chain" ice cream places!! No competition!! The race was won before it started!! The pistachio is out of this world! The cone could be on its own a treat!! I was there on a rainy Saturday so it wasn't that busy, however be careful evidently it get very busy!! So wait times could be... More

the best cinnamon ice cream anywhere. Right in Reading Terminal, convenient to Center City. the other flavors looked good, too, but I'm hooked on their cinnamon!

When I first came, I tried the Vanilla Fudge. It was great. I'm so used to store brought Ice cream that you would think would have taken a cue from Bassetts. I went back to again a few days later and had chocolate with M&Ms. So glad I tried it and can't wait to go back.

I know this place is full of history, and the setting in Reading Terminal was nice, but I wasn't overly impressed by my gadzooks flavor of ice cream. It was heavy on the chocolate and light on the other flavors I was supposed to have mixed in. Great for history, just ok for ice cream.
