Spent todays lunch here. I tried Mama's famous falafel, spicy (recomended by staff). It was very tastful; I added some extra spice. Most people dont say this but the white pita bread was well prepared, the fluff and taste was just on point.

I am a fanatic about falafel. At one point in time in my life, I could eat falafel every day without batting an eye! Needless to say, as an Israeli, I have eaten a lot of falafel at some of Israel's finest. Mama's disappointed, big time. While the falafel balls are okay, the Israeli salad has little taste (where is... More

Great Kosher Falafel place in Philadelphia, 1st time visit, will be back on my next visit On my 1st day in town for the IACP convention, I found this Kosher Falafel place to be within 15-20 minutes walking distance of the convention center, The food and choices was great, Falafel in the pita was very fresh hot and delicious, so... Philadelphia has somewhat limited choices for real Kosher restaurants and this would rate as giving the best value for your food dollar. It's 'just the basics', you stand inline, order from the fairly extensive menu(even combo platters are mostly under $ 10). Hope you can find a seat in the tiny restaurant. Restaurant does a large take-out business it appears.... More

Our family goes here when in town and even on way to Phillies game. Convenient and tasty. Could be bigger!

This little hole in the wall still produces very good vegetarian kosher food time after time. Service is friendly and quick...you need to know how to make a selection if not familiar with fallafel/Israeli street food, and how to negotiate the free salad bar offerings on a tiny paper plate. Or to find a table in the often crowded space.... More

When I asked my friends what to do in philly they ALL told me I have to try this place. I don't consider myself a falafel enthusiast but i must say that this was probably the best falafel ive ever had. so if you really like falafel, i'm pretty sure this place has a big table of this stuff for... Since my first, less than exciting experience at Mama's, I went back to give it another try. This time, wow, what a difference. There were far fewer people crowding the restaurant. The server had the chance to chat with me about my order, and I had time to collect some condiments without feeling rushed out of the way. Even better,... More

Everyone seems to rave about Mama's. It was okay, but I am not ready to rave about it...yet. The pros: it's vegetarian and it's very easy for me to get to; pretty reasonably priced, too. The cons: the falafel was okay, but too much of a spice for me...was it nutmeg? I couldn't tell. When I went, it was incredibly... More

Staff friendly and food delicious. Good proximity to major attractions. We had the falafel and french fries and enjoyed both.
