Great place for a german beer and to play games with friends. Bratwurst was great. Next time I will try a shake
Spent an evening with friends drinking liters of reasonably priced beers. We played ping pong and Jenga. The food was pretty decent also. Had some awesome German pretzels and German sausage. Can't wait to go back!
great bear garden in a nicely renovated space. it reminds me of the beer gardens in brooklyn i used to go to when i lived in new york.
I have visited Frankford Hall on many occasions. The ample outdoor seating is nice and makes enjoying a liter of beer all the more enjoyable. There are plenty of heat lamps which keep it comfortable even when it gets a bit chilly. The food is pretty good and they have a generic version of Jenga to enjoy.
Stephen Starr has managed to do it again, create another awesome restaurant with great food and drinks. Who doesn't love beers the size of your head and currywurst? Awesome atmosphere for a couple or group friends. Plus they have table games so you can just hang out all night. Plenty of street parking and very close to the SEPTA stop,... More
We had recently come back to the US after living in Vienna for a year, and were yearning for Käsekrainer. We had just a day in Philadelphia, and came across a restaurant listing for Frankford Hall. We ventured there on the way out of town, not sure what we'd find. Oh my god! It was perfect in a perfectly understated... More
Plenty of beer selection and the food is very good. We were here for a birthday but didn't want to pay to reserve the tables. So if you get there early enough on a Saturday, we got there around 4pm, there is plenty of space available.
I've been meaning to go to Frankford Hall for a while, a Steven Starr beer hall in Fishtown, modeled after German beer gardens. We finally got there on Saturday in the middle of their Oktoberfest festival. We arrived just before the crowd got too big and we were lucky to get two seats at the outdoor bar. We sampled a... More
This beer garden is awesome. The outside dining area is filled with huge picnic tables, and a ping pong table. The cheesy pretzels are delicious and the beer is extraordinary. It is a little taste of Germany in the center of Fishtown, Philly. The drinks a little expensive, but worth it. Perfect spot for day drinking or a huge party... More
This is one of the best places I have visited since my year spent in Germany. Centered between old brick buildings and picnic tables lined up for people to sit at, this place attracts a variety of people. From bikers, to college kids, from families, to tourists - and they all fit in! Every picnic table has Jenga, and it... More
