I actually looked forward to lunch at this "garden" eatery, which is a well known restaurant (deli?) in old city Philadelphia. I was not impressed with the offered food that I ate. Alert to future customers. Some folks may have trouble managing the stairs while holding their purchases.

The inside of the restaurant is elegant and cozy and there's a lovely garden to enjoy summer in the city-- such a treat. But, the real star here is the excellent food-- everything was delicious and top notch. Don't try to decide between the creative and fresh cocktails and extensive wine list-- just work both into a long, leisurely meal.... More

No leftovers with such yummy food. Very pricey ($14 glass wine) but food was well worth it and a very special dinner night out! Loved the scallops and the mushroom appetizer!

...and wow am I glad I did. The whole dining experience was phenomenal. New, unique tastes and flavors with a thoughtful and unpretentous presentation. The atmosphere was like an intimate escape within the city. This was a perfect pre-theater meal as we celebrated a special occasion.

It was a gorgeous summer night, with great friends and great food in our 'hidden garden'. Our waitress Tatiana was wonderful and her recommendations were spot on. Every dish we order was excellent. Highly recommend! Will definitely return!

We love this place. It has a great cocktail program. It is also heavily invested in cheese. We always have a cheese course when we go there. The seating is comfortable. The waitstaff is always helpful. There is parking nearby.

From the moment we arrived, I knew this was going to be a special evening. We were celebrating a dear friend's birthday so regardless of the location we knew we were going to have fun. What we were not expecting was to have one of the best meals ever. We had hoped to sit outside on the gorgeous patio, but... More

We sat outside on an absolutely gorgeous summer night. The patio was not crowded, and the service was more than adequate. Actually, the service seemed a bit overwhelming at times. I enjoy a staff that is attentive and polite, but after a while, it seems forced, interrupting the flow of conversation and a bit awkward. Interesting menu, but nothing that... More

Our first time at Talula's was a bit disappointing. It wasn't the service...KerrieAnne was great. It wasn't the wine (2 glasses)...just right. It wasn't the ambience - lovely garden setting. It was inconsistent food quality and consistent high prices. We just went for pre-theatre wine and munchies. Three cheeses were delicious. The heirloom tomato salad was average. The small plate... I'm surprised to see any negative reviews, as we both felt it was probably one of the best restaurants we've ever dined at. And we've dined out A LOT, not just in the US of A either. Corner to corner in the USA, and most of Europe. that being said, we dined early, 5:00 so perhaps with later dining you... More
