Smart in every way

The ingredients are not so much selected as curated: everything seemed amazing. I have two regrets: that I don’t live in or near Philadelphia and that I went here on my last day in town for Sunday brunch. If it had been the first day, I don’t think I would have eaten anywhere else. A manager... read more

Hubby and I went for a date night dinner and we both agreed it's the best food we've had in Philly so far. Per Yelp recos, we started with a cheese plate (Not Your Granny's) which was...unbelievable. Our waitress asked for our cheese preferences as though it was wine, and described it similarly; hints of rosemary, green apple on the... More

Went to dinner here while visiting Philly after reading all the great reviews about it here on trip advisor. What a unique place! The wait staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant itself is almost tucked between two large buildings, but once inside this restaurant it opens up into a nice open space. We were greeted with smiles upon... More

My husband and I took out of town friends here for Sunday brunch. We were a bit early, but seated promptly. Our server was very welcoming and friendly, as well as knowledgeable about the menu. The bialy starter with lox/cream cheese spread was spectacular. The bialys were freshly made and served warm. The cheese plate was delicious and diverse. The... More

We went to Talulas Garden on a Saturday night with another couple for dinner. We had a 7:45 reservation but our table wasn't ready. We went to have a drink at the bar. First of all, the drinks were delicious. I had The Artist, which was amazing. My husband had The Fisherman, which he loved. Because we had to wait... More

One of the excellent experiences that you wish to leave for yourself, but these places work hard to survive. Living in NYC, it's hard to be surprised by visiting other cities' restaurants. Pleasant employees, that actually know what food they serve. Extended explanation of the ingredients, and origins of where their food comes from. Among 6 of us, we tried... More

Looked forward to an excellent meal after reading about this restaurant and it's good reviews. Brought some friends. Cocktails good. Seated promptly. 6:30 Thursday night, was so loud we couldn't talk without yelling. Food came quickly, with little time between appetizer and main course. Drinks ordered came after the appetizer was served. Most food we ordered was too salty to... More

We were really pleased with the amazing food and top-notch service. Pork belly was out of this world good and desserts were a delight. Beautiful location and atmosphere is very conducive to great conversation with friends or business associates. Best restaurant in Philly!!

We went to Talula's to celebrate our son's 19th birthday. In a large multi-tiered space, they have done a good job of designing so each section feels smaller and calmer and fairly airy. In nice weather, it would be pleasant to sit in their outdoor seating. Overall, we felt the service was earnest if overly attentive and precious. It seemed... More

Talula's Garden is and remains one of my favorite spots in Philadelphia. The food and service is always a first class. Be sure to order a cheese selection, you pallet will thank you. Their cocktails and entree selections are outstanding. The service is attentive without being intrusive. Always a great experience!
