Went to celebrate my friend's birthday. Requested outdoor seating when I made the reservation. Got there, was told they didn't have an outdoor table, and can'y honor those requested when making reservations. We waited long for an outside table, but that was part of the reason we went there. The food was good, not great. The service was ok.

We had eaten at Talula's once before shortly after it opened and enjoyed it, so we decided to return. With all the great restaurants in Philadelphia, we'll likely not return again. While the food was really tasty, beautifully prepared, thoughtfully put together, and well presented, when you're paying about $150-$175 per couple, you expect more, especially from a Stephen Starr... The year is 2014. It is not enough to advertise a restaurant as supporting local farmers; everyone and their mother does it nowadays. It is not enough to place Alice Waters' quotes on the walls. One 'small' detail has to be in place - good food and good service. Talula's Garden lacks both. Chef Jose Garces knows how to do... More

We had been here for dinner months ago and had a pretty good experience, so we decided to take our good friends here for brunch. The experience, service wise, was good. Jennifer, the manager was, as always amazing. Please don't let her get away. Sadly, I have the same comments on the noise level that I did for dinner, but... More

We choose this restaurant for our celebrations and business engagements.. BUT...this is our second experience with very POOR SERVICE....I was so embarrassed in front of my guests that I actually removed myself during the experience to speak to the manager... I... More

The food was incredible, the ambiance to die for, but the staff made it all worthwhile. I have food allergies and the servers went above and beyond to assure me that my food was nut-free. They also kept congratulating my friend on her graduation and wrote congratulations on her dessert plate! Excellent touch. I was initially sad that we would... More

What an awesome location on Washington Square; the garden was truly a wonderful setting for a great dinner experience. We had the Foie Gras Mousse; Beef Tartare; Veal Agnolotti and a dinner special of PEI Mussels with fresh made pasta in a saffron tomato broth. Really great service and a memorable experience. You'll love it if you're a foodie -... More

Possibly the best all-around dining experience I have ever had! We sat in the garden on a lovely evening in August. It is an idyllic setting! All of the food was wonderful! The menu is always changing - the cuisine is described as "ultra seasonal". We had a squash salad that was a masterpiece of simplicity. The warm rolls with... More

The restaurant specializes in dishes from the past, so I try to order the oldest. All great, As the food was very tasty and incredibly delicious. I enjoyed my lunch so much.

Picked this restaurant to impress on "first date". Expectations were met or exceeded. We had wine and appetizers at 5 pm on Sunday afternoon. Most knowledgeable server I have ever had. Food variety, presentation, and freshness was excellent. Service was perfectly timed as we ordered multiple items to share and new items were not served until we had finished the... More
