Description: For great domestic craft beer, and extensive wine and whiskey selections, head to Cooperage, a New American gastropub located in the historic Curtis Center, just North of Washington Square. Coop’s kitchen puts a fun twist on comfort food, and a refreshing focus on slow food, like oysters on the half shell, and cheese and charcuterie boards put together from small American farms. A great destination for a quick and tasty lunch, casual snacks and sips at the bar, or a full dinner.

Its just a 2 block walk from Independence hall. Great burgers and draft beer. Its hidden in a building on 7th st but easy to find if you look for the address. Atrium in the building is spectacular. We had burgers and a few drafts, sweet potato fries and cheesesteak fries. Deliciuos.

If you want a laid back, unpretentious place to get a good glass of scotch then you've found it! The bar tenders are very friendly and knowledgeable and always recommend great varieties of scotch for you to try.

I came here by myself on a recommendation from someone who worked at the Philadelphia History Museum. It was kind of an awkward time of day, between lunch and dinner, so the restaurant was mostly empty. The gentleman host was very friendly, seated me at a nice table by the window and even provided me with some reading material. The... More

Have been twice now in past month, both at lunch and can always count on good meal. Service staff are friendly and sweet potato fries are delicious as was the salmon BLT which was a special one day. I thought the $10 glass of wine my friend had was a tad steep but otherwise everything else was reasonable. My only... More

Cooperage is awesome! The bartenders are awesome! We sat at the bar around 8:00 on Saturday... and there was barely anyone there at the time... so it was kinda romantic! Nice and polished and quiet.... the bar started to fill up around 10:00 and we witnessed several plates of amazing looking food pass us by! Patrons were enjoying themselves.. so... More

Walking around Philly trying to locate this restaurant was a challenge, but more of an adventuresome one than a painful one. Turns out the restaurant was located inside the Curtis Center and there was only a small sign on the glass door that happened to catch my eye as I walked past. Inside, the atmosphere is decidedly casual, with water... More

I was in meetings all morning within Curtis Center, and a colleague knew I had to head to the airport to fly out. We went to this place, and without a reservation, we were placed actually outside the restaurant in a hallway adjacent, but the table was adequately sized; I found it odd that throughout our lunch (12:45-1:45) there were... I have had the wonderful experience of frequenting this establishment for the last two years! The staff and crowd are wonderful. Excellent selection of spirits and beers on tap! They have great "bar food" [hummus plate, chicken wings, sandwiches, and burgers]. Keep up the good work!

I happened on this place by chance because it is somewhat difficult to find. It is located inside an old historic building on Washington Square. There is also a very cool mosaic in the building which I suggest checking out. Inside this bar, the atmosphere takes over and wherever your from, it feels like your local spot. I met a... More
