Emma's Cafe Is The Gem of Northeast Philly!

My wife and I have been dining at Emma's Café for several years, and we are always impressed with the quality of this fine BYOB restaurant. The owner/head chef has had experience as the chef at several of Philadelphia's finest restaurants. So when he opened his own establishment, he brought this... read more

My second review of Emma's. Went back for another birthday dinner. Mussels in white simply the best but must try the red sauce next time. Onion soup sample was outstanding! Please put it on the menu!! The veal osso bucco with risotto was one of the best I have ever tasted! My husband would have preferred a brown gravy instead... More

We always have a good meal here. The portions are large and price readonable. They are having a price fixed menu now, three course meal for 24.00. Awesome. The waitresses are very nice and we have never had bad service. As another reciew said, ignore the outside, the meal is so worth it.

Recently, attended a family function at this restaurant. The atmosphere was good for an intimate family gathering. Only one complaint, there is only one room for dining. If you are having a family gathering, then other diners can also be in the dining room with your party. A minor inconvenience but an inconvenience depending on the type of function you... More

Ignore the exterior of this amazing restaurant: from the outside, it looks nothing like the interior. Inside await cloth-covered tables, each with a candle. Soft Italian music (opera and Frank Sinatra) played the two nights we ate there. My colleague and I were in town on business. The food and service were so good, we ate dinner here both nights... An absolutely wonderful little restaurant. Don't let the area or its looks fool you. The service is first rate and the food is among the best I've tasted.

Never had a bad meal here. Always good food, small place, perfect for me and Babydoll to enjoy a fine meal and conversation. Did it for New Year's Eve Meal....perfect to start the festivities....

Waited too long to dine at Emmas Cafe . It was quiet with soothing Italian music playing softly . The staff was casual and friendly , very nice and attentive . The food was excellent , enjoyed the fixed price meals . The mussels were delicious , and dinner and dessert were expertly prepared and presented . A special evening... More

Went for my birthday dinner. The food was excellent, on par with the fancy and more expensive center city places. The mussels in white sauce were superb and the veal piccata was fork tender with the best sauce ever! The $22 & $27 were excellent values for the quality and quantity of food. Definitely returning !!

What a gem we've found in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. Emma's Cafe, a BYOB, is a restaurant that serves wonderful italian meals. The price for a pre fixe meal was $27. That includes any appetizer on the menu, any entree including specials on the menu and a desert. Total cost for my wife and I for an absolutely delicious... More
