Great family meal

We were 8. Had a great set of meal. Pasta and steak were both great. Service was tremendous. Cauliflower appetizer was good as was the duck.

The Garces Trading Company has long been a favorite during our annual visits to Philadelphia. While the cuisine is still excellent, the setting has changed and the service has slipped a bit. We were initially seated against a wall with a curtain even though plenty of better two-seat tables were available on a Sunday night. There were only four entrees... More

This was the 3rd dinner (first two were great/very good) out in Philly for our family of four (2 older teens and 2 adults) adventurous eaters. Let me start by saying the artificial flowers in the entrance way set up to mimic a French market need to go, no one is buying the trumped up scene and it really detracts... More

There are a number of better places in Philadelphia to eat - so this is Average to Very Good. Here is what is good - and not so good. You must read the not so good. Good - The warm Mozzarella appetizer, various steak entrees, vichyssoise soup and charcuterie apps. Not so good - Well the service is uneven -... More

My husband and I were given a gift certificate here. We used it last night to celebrate my husband's birthday and we were blown away by the food. The duck salad was a meal in itself and the pasta dishes that we had were wonderful. The biggest criticism we have is that it is probably the noisiest restaurant we have... More

We stopped here for a drink before the theatre and my wife really loved her lemon drop Martini. Best ever.

On a weekday evening, six of us were seated at one of the high tables in the front, nice because it was a bit quieter. The diverse menu features several innovative small plates, pastas, and pizzas, so there is something for diverse tastes and appetites. For me, the standout was a grilled cauliflower and black garlic pesto appetizer. That, an... More

Second time at a Garces restaurant so husband and I were expecting a great experience. Had an early reservation and in spite of an empty restaurant we were seated in the back by the kitchen and restroom. I had the misfortune of being seated facing the bread service station and serving boxes. To my disgust, everyone (including the food runner/table... More

Let me start by saying their Vichyssoise Chaud was probably the best I've ever tasted. Great balance of potatoes, leeks, black truffles, chives, bacon and olive oil. Delicious salads, breads, flavored olive oils and vinegars. Flatbreads are made with decadent duck fat. My wife had the Spaniard Sandwich, which we all couldn't keep our hands off of. Paired with a... More
