On a weekday evening, six of us were seated at one of the high tables in the front, nice because it was a bit quieter. The diverse menu features several innovative small plates, pastas, and pizzas, so there is something for diverse tastes and appetites. For me, the standout was a grilled cauliflower and black garlic pesto appetizer. That, an... More

Second time at a Garces restaurant so husband and I were expecting a great experience. Had an early reservation and in spite of an empty restaurant we were seated in the back by the kitchen and restroom. I had the misfortune of being seated facing the bread service station and serving boxes. To my disgust, everyone (including the food runner/table... More

Let me start by saying their Vichyssoise Chaud was probably the best I've ever tasted. Great balance of potatoes, leeks, black truffles, chives, bacon and olive oil. Delicious salads, breads, flavored olive oils and vinegars. Flatbreads are made with decadent duck fat. My wife had the Spaniard Sandwich, which we all couldn't keep our hands off of. Paired with a... More

Still craving of the steak and frites, in duck fat. The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Really wonderful cocktails. We loved this restaurant and would make it a repeat any time in Philly.

leisurely lunch at one of our go-to Philly spots. Lunch special is such a good deal. Endive salad is much larger and more complex than you would expect and pasta e fagioli with sausage has super flavor. Highlight of the lunch though was Benjamin - even though he was handling a lot of tables, he attended to every detail and... More

A very reasonable meal with a good selection of inexpensive wines. Here for a convention and it was close to convention area and a nice walk led us to a good meal. Attentive service. Just too much wood and brick in the room made for difficult conversation. And we were seated at a high top table -- not the most... More

Try this while visiting from out of town. Menu was broad enough to accommodate four different types of guest. Service was prompt and attentive without being over bearing. The bar seemed to be a hot spot. An enjoyable experience

The restaurant has an interesting menu with to me a French/Mediterranean influence. The service is attentive, the wine list is too small. They odder two tasting menus. We chose the bigger one, which was too me too much food. Less and more focus on the quality and how the menu is assembled and the dishes follow would have been better.

Friday night we had a reservation for four but at the last minute more folks wanted to join us. Despite the Valentine's Day weekend crush, The Trading Company had no problem getting us an 8:30 pm table and in the end we had a great semi private and very cheerful spot by the window to accommodate eight! We were a... More

This is the second time that we have frequented the Garces Trading Company but I do not think it will be our last. The establishment was celebrating Restaurant Week so they had a special menu for us. My wife and I each selected a different appetizer, entree and dessert. We shared with each other so we each could savor the... More
