Good food and great service

Having been to several of Jose Garces's restaurants, I wanted to try Garces Trading Company. I took my son here during Restaurant Week and wasn't disappointed. The Trading Company was a wonderful restaurant. It has been my go to place to take friends and out of town guests. I have visited the restaurant twice in the last month with guests and I, along with my guests, were not impressed by the food. The menu offerings, as always, sounded exciting, but were just average. I hope the... More

Had an excellent meal as part of restaurant week, everything prepared perfectly. Room is a bit noisy and the tables are close together, making it difficult to avoid overhearing others

The food was ok. I got an egg sandwich which was good. My husband got steak and eggs. Pretty bad. Came with undressed greens. Son got French toast. Was just ok. The service was awful. The waitress never stopped by after taking our order. My husband wanted a coffee refill but was not able to get it, since she did... More

We had a group of 7 women in for brunch yesterday. It was such a delightful surprise! The sour dough bread was a treat and the fun selection of oils and vinegars added to the treat. Our server was helpful and patient as we mulled over the menu. The duck fat fries were perfect! The serving size was a little... More

Limited menu. Server tried to make sure my dinner was without things I'm allergic to buy something was lost in translation. So I got sick from the meal. My husband was also sick that night & we were both sick the next day - we both had the duck salad so we think it was that. we were so sick!... More

My wife and I recently visited Philadelphia for a long weekend and decided to try this place because of it being an iron chef's restaurant. We looked at the menu but decided to try the 4 course tasting menu and it was worth every penny. All in all, we had a cheese and meat tasting, salad, pasta and pizza course,... More

Garces' food is all about the flavors and seasoning and it did not disappoint in that regard. Among four of us we had Tuscan Fusilli Carbonara, Prime Culotte(beef), and two Cotriade Bretonne( fisherman's stew). The waitress was excellent and explained the menu to us pointing out that the plates became larger as you progressed through the sections of the menu.... More

Met by cheerful staff when entering...really helped as we just left nearby hospital after many, many hours. Felt relaxed right away. Lunch combos were inexpensive but still obviously prepared by a real chef...not a cook. Can't wait to go again.
