Much TOO Loud

A birthday celebration began with difficulty - no one could really hear anyone else, even the person sitting next to them. We managed to have good food but it was not fun. Clearly the chefs know how to cook , although the quail could have been grilled longer to brown the outer skin . It was not... read more

A mostly small plate (tapas style) nouveau Italian bistro. a) Great cocktails at the bar. Definitely worth the trip. Bold, flavorful, creative, priced right. Nice bar. b) Strong service: unlike some reviews, I loved the service: super friendly, helpful, attentive, fast service. c) Food itself: very good, but uneven. The rigatoni Amatrician (a pork based tomatoes sauce) was suprisingly light... More

We wanted to try one of Mark Vetri's restaurants on this trip and chose Amis. Excellent food, great service, great wine list and (I think) every wine on the list was available by the glass as well as by the bottle. A bit noisy but that's because the place was packed. Will definitely go back.

We were part of a group that ordered many different small plates. Everything was absolutely delicious-the flavor combinations are superb and the food is made with care. It might be a tad unique for the meat and potatoes pallet.

Amis features small plates. The food is interesting and excellent. Amis has an excellent wine list with some very good wines by the glass. The décor is industrial and can be loud. They have a number of vegan plates.

This restaurant is a little off the beaten path in a quieter area. However, the restaurant itself was almost too noisy for me. I wish we had requested a more private table as we were wedged tightly between other guests in communal type seating. I saw other, more private tables open all night and couldn't help but be disappointed that... More

Very small and trendy Italian place close to the center of the city, but not in the main tourist/business area. Not a big menu, but great items and a very good service. Baked cheese and braised lamb shoulder were extremely good. Sicilian red wine probably the best Italian wine (for my taste) I ever tried.

A group of 6 of us went to Amis tonight for a business dinner. We entered into a raucous dining room where several parties awaited seating ahead of us - I regard this as a good sign and my group doesn't mind heading to the bar while a table is prepared. We ordered a few cocktails and a plate of... More

Had a Saturday night reservation for 4 of us, at 8pm. Food was delicious (baked cheese! and a pasta dish with jalapeno!), service was great, ambiance was nice, and the mood was great. Our only snag was ordering the bottle of white wine special they had that evening. It was so hot. She had to keep pouring us a simple... More

Food was OK, and one of dishes, Pea Tortellini with Lamb Ragu, was excellent. But our table was next to horrendous bachelorette party of 10, Sat June 6. Constant shrieks as loud as NYC subway without a break for over an hour. On arrival we had asked to be seated outside, which was quiet and where many others eating, We... More
