A Bijou of a Place

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with my husband at this small, lively restaurant. Clearly, it has a local and devoted clientele. The tables (all occupied) were filled with family parties, friends, couples and celebratory groups. We enjoyed some nice wine-by-the-glass offerings but one is equally welcome... read more

Went here on a Saturday night with another couple, seasonal menu that changes regularly...just a fabulous gem in this section of the city. This was one of the best meals I have had in a while. Everyone loved their apps-oysters, chicken fried skate and the mussels, entrees- salmon special (so perfect I wanted to lick my plate), swordfish and NY... More

From service to food, we couldn't have gone wrong. You weren't packed in like a sardine like most restaurants in the city. You can actually hear yourself talk. The service was very helpful and attentive. Our server guided through the menu, which was simple, but absolutely the best French food I have ever had. We even ate dessert it was... More

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with my husband at this small, lively restaurant. Clearly, it has a local and devoted clientele. The tables (all occupied) were filled with family parties, friends, couples and celebratory groups. We enjoyed some nice wine-by-the-glass offerings but one is equally welcome to BYOB with no corkage fee. Quite an unusual pleasure! Sizzling mussels were a novel... More

We ate here with friends. The atomsphere was bustling and welcoming. Staff were friendly and efficient. Portions were good and not too large as in some US restaurants. My mussels starter was unusual, well-cooked and presented. My new york strip steak was cooked exactly as I asked for it and the mushroom bread pudding was excellent. Well worth a visit... More

Meme was one we had missed among all the other amazing choices in the Philadelphia dining scene but we recently tried and were not disappointed. Food was cooked well and tasty - Bone marrow and mussels definitely stood out. The no corkage fee BYOB is a plus though they do have a small but decent wine list. service was good... More

We had a terrific dinner here on President's Day weekend. The oysters were terrific as was the duck and mushroom tart appetizer. I had a really nicely cooked salmon and my husband had cod. We were pleased, but probably would not order the cod again.

The food quality, preparation and service was excellent. Meme did a good job with our rather large birthday group. Can highly recommend.

Great little corner spot in a nice part of the city. You must try the Morrocan Swordfish it's delicately seasoned and wonderful. The staff is very friendly and accomodating and the desserts are very good too. Don't miss this great little place in Philly.

The food experience at Meme was adversely affected by jamming too many tables in a very small space. Our table was so close to the table behind us that I had to sit sideways until the couple left. Lots of noise as well. I was disappointed that the food was overshadowed by the uncomfortable seating arrangement.

The best meal I have had in a long time. There isn't a huge menu, but everything we had was delicious, and so unusual. (We did lots of tasing of each other's dishes!) It's not a big restaurat so it's a good idea to book - we had done so, but there were people waiting outside when we left. The... More
