Tried John's because I read an article that called the roast pork one of America' greatest sandwiches, and I can totally agree with that. The pork sandwich is amazing. It doesn't even taste like pork. It's juicy and delicious but not the least bit greasy. But -- sorry -- the cheesesteak is not as good. It's not bad, and probably... More

The famous Roast Pork Sandwich left alot to be desired. It barely had a taste and the bread was soggy. Customer service isn't too great either. Plenty of other sandwich shops in Philly....I don't get the hype.

Friends told us about this place. We are normally a Danics roast pork lover. The staff is friendly. We were lucky it happened to be unseasonably warm in Feb, because we sat outside on the picnic tables. I think this is the BEST roast pork sandwich I've ever had!

You always want your first to be special and John's roast pork didn't let me down. Cash only and seating outside gives you an idea of the place. What they lack in atmosphere they totally make up in a great cheesesteak. There will always be a debate on the best cheesesteak sandwich in Philly but I don't see how you... More

My wife and I were driving thru Philly and decided to stop for some cheese steaks. Based on the reviews I decided to get the roast pork while my wife got the cheese steak. Both were excellent. I haven't tried any other place in Philadelphia for cheese steaks but these were so good I don't think I want to.

Had the rost pork sandwich and it was excellent. the small sandwich was actually large enough to be shared. I will try the cheese steak next time. it's cash only. it's noisy and crowded but all that can be ignored if you're there for a great sandwich. if the atmosphere was a little "tamer" I would have said it's perfect.

This is HANDS DOWN the BEST Cheesesteak in Philadelphia. I drive down from New York to go here. A HUGE sandwich with tons of delicious meat and great bread to hold it all together. I drive down from New York several times a year to "test" different Cheesesteak places--have been to at least two dozen different places and this is... More

This is the best cheesesteak meat I've ever had, and I was born in Philly. The bread was artisinal, and hard to get used to, but really good! NOW I know why they keep appearing at the top of the yearly list. Weird hours, cash only, seperate lines for cheesesteak and pork, but staff is nice. No whiz here!

Always drove by this place, decided to finally try it and I loved it. Had the roast pork, it was delicious. Got the small and could have shared it. Fries good too. Will try the cheese steak next time. They take cash only.

Maneuvering through the streets of Philly is an adventure unto itself. Ordering at John's Roast Pork is no exception. It was a bit confusing placing our orders. There are two different lines, one for cheesesteaks, the other for roast beef or roast pork. Unfortunately, being newbies, no one told us of such. Instead of taking our order all at once,... More
