Excellent Pork Sandwich!

We happened to stop in the night before a flight out and it was the 85th anniversary so the beef, pork and meatball sandwiches were $.85 each. Happy to take part in the celebration. The line moved quickly. There was a singer/guitar player outside braving the cold but doing a terrific job. We... read more

You can't come to Philly and not get a cheesesteak! And you better get it from here, the place is tiny inside with minimal seating, picnic style seating on the patio and the exterior is surrounded by Industrial dirt and it still has lines wrapping around the building! Melt in your mouth giant sandwiches full of flavor! And there's more... More

If you are visiting the city, or have lived here for 50 years, head over to John's Roast Pork. Yes, the cheese steaks are good, but trust me, order a large roast pork, extra sharp provolone, and greens and you will have one of the the best sandwiches in the country. Real men get long hots on the sandwich. Sitting... More

If you can only have one Philadelphia cheesesteak, this is where you should go. Having lived in the Philadelphia area for 20 years, and in the city itself for the last 10 years, I have eaten a Philly cheesesteak from almost everywhere. John's Roast Pork makes the best cheesesteaks, their roast pork sandwich isn't bad either, but their Cheesesteak is... More

We went to John's Roast Pork based on reviews on Trip Advisor. It is a small place without indoor seating. The outdoor seating is limited. It was a cold day and, even though there was an outdoor heater, it was still cold to sit outside. However the roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone and spinach was delicious. The small sandwich... It's Valentine's Day and we were headed to Philly to check out the new Kano exhibit at the Philly Art Museum. We already had our V'Day dinner on Thursday night, so we agreed that we would not go to a restaurant on Saturday night (too crowded and food is never that great). I was checking out "Eater's" list of places... More

I saw this place listed as a top Philly cheesesteak destination, and after seeing Trip Advisor reviews, we rode into this place ready to start our weekend with Philly's finest food. The place is understated in appearance, busy with customers, and after ordering a a roast pork and a cheesesteak to share with the wife, we were not disappointed. The... More

I do like a dive and John's is that for sure, so had really high hopes. On strength of reviews I tried the large roast pork with onions and sharp provolone -- unfortunately it just wasn't good enough to finish even half, and cheese was especially foul (must be a local thing). Bread was fine on top and middle but dry... More

If you're heading to Philly, John's Roast Pork is a must go, it epitomizes what makes Philadelphia the City of Brotherly Love! The food, beyond amazing, every sandwich pure bliss and perfectly made! Nothing is pre-made, it's all made to order so made just for you. The roasted pork was awesome, and the Cheesesteak now ranks as my #1, the... More

The simplest sandwich but wow it is so tasty. Serve with the provolone cheese was the best choice. Eating outside with the local give you a better experience.
