We went to Butcher & Singer for the very first time to celebrate our parents' 40th anniversary. All I can say is 'Wow'! This place is not only full of class and fantastic food, but the service was also exceptional. We had Brian for our server and he was super attentive and very helpful with regard to the menu. Additionally,... More

As other reviewers have said you can't fail to be impressed by the beautiful décor in this restaurant. The steak was good (although mine was a little overcooked), but we have had better for the price we paid. Service was average and we had to ask for bread and more water etc rather than it being offered to us. The... More

The restaurant is beautiful with very high ceilings, chandeliers, wood paneling. Quiet enough to carry on a reasonable business or intimate conversation. The service was exceptional and the steaks were fantastic which you'd expect in a great steakhouse. What really makes the place stand out were the appetizers and the sides. The stuffed hash browns were out of this world.... More

This restaurant is a must if you're in Philly. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the ambiance is very nice. Not too loud but yet a good vibe. We sat in a booth along the side of the restaurant and it was a great, private location. The food was amazing! Everyone loved the French Onion Soup, the bread was so... More

The service was perfect from the moment a valet took our car, a hostess showed us to a perfect table right away even though we arrived early, (Philly traffic is so unpredictable!) and servers explained everything and timed courses just right. The one rough spot was the very loud and abrasive voice of the young server helping the table next... More

Our last evening in Philadelphia, so we wanted something nice. Our client recommended this as one of the best Steakhouses in the area. Absolutely everything you would expect. Attentive, and personable wait staff in a 1940's styled dining room. We were all pretty stuffed so passed on starters but selected a couple of nice wines from the good(not large) wine... More

Top notch steakhouse that is priced as you would expect it to be. Don't miss the stuffed hash browns or the baked Alaska. My NY strip was prepared perfectly at medium rare and seasoned appropriately. Love it love it!

My large family and I recently celebrated the graduation of our eldest son from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and we wanted to celebrate this momentous occasion with a special dinner. We choose Butcher and Singer as our venue and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. The restaurant is a beautiful old bank building with stunning decor. There... More

Wonderful meal with excellent service. Shared 1/2 dozen fresh oysters, the wedge salad, filet and lobster tail, and stuffed hash browns (OMG). Expect pricing similar to Mortons or Capital Grille, but an authentic 1940's steak house feel. Wonderful...

We were seated promptly and the restaurant was packed. Gorgeous room with high ceilings, wood panels and a cool mural. Used to be a financial institution and has a really " power" feel. Steaks were great quality and beautifully prepared. The has bron side stuffed with aug gratin potatoes in sour cream was noteworthy. Escargots were fantastic as was tuna... More
