Went with colleagues for a business dinner. I had the salmon, which was fine but nothing special. My friend had the steak, and even as someone who "likes" but doesn't "love" steak--this was phenomenal. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Decor is dark and intimate (which could be awkward depending on your party). Dress was business casual. Great wine list... More

Great service and food. We tried this on the last night of out stay on Philadelphia and it was a great way to end the trip. The steaks were top quality, juicy and delicious. Save room for dessert and ask for the baked Alaska.

The high ceilings, and décor are very wowing. The service is attentive without being intrusive. Prices are high as you would expect from a top flight steakhouse. Steaks are big and thick and were cooked to order. The flavor was not top 10 in the nation flavor, but was still very good. The baked Alaska was touted as a "we're... More

We went there for lunch and had their lunch signature dish, the burger. Now, I am a burger freak (if in Washington go and have the best burger in the world at Black and orange), and I am not too fond of fried onions and cheese on my burger, but because it was part of their special I stuck with... We’ve been to practically every steakhouse in Philadelphia and unfortunately this does not rank at the top of our list. I’m not just giving it an average rating because we waited almost an hour for our reservation because frankly we were okay with that. We were with a group of 6 so we just sat at the bar. The manager... More

We went to Butcher & Singer for the very first time to celebrate our parents' 40th anniversary. All I can say is 'Wow'! This place is not only full of class and fantastic food, but the service was also exceptional. We had Brian for our server and he was super attentive and very helpful with regard to the menu. Additionally,... More

As other reviewers have said you can't fail to be impressed by the beautiful décor in this restaurant. The steak was good (although mine was a little overcooked), but we have had better for the price we paid. Service was average and we had to ask for bread and more water etc rather than it being offered to us. The... More

The restaurant is beautiful with very high ceilings, chandeliers, wood paneling. Quiet enough to carry on a reasonable business or intimate conversation. The service was exceptional and the steaks were fantastic which you'd expect in a great steakhouse. What really makes the place stand out were the appetizers and the sides. The stuffed hash browns were out of this world.... More

This restaurant is a must if you're in Philly. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the ambiance is very nice. Not too loud but yet a good vibe. We sat in a booth along the side of the restaurant and it was a great, private location. The food was amazing! Everyone loved the French Onion Soup, the bread was so... More
