I visit a lot of good steakhouses, and this was probably one of the nicest I've had in a long time. The building is also amazing. Sides were impressive, but stick away from the signature hash brown. Too big and way too stodgy!

Butcher & Singer is located in a very old bank building with very interesting architectural details. The food was superb and our wait person excellent. We have been to many high end steak houses and this was among the best.

This was my second visit to Butcher and Singer and I must say that this place delivers...consistently! From the hosts at the entrance, to the waiters, the service is impeccable. The food is delicious and cooked to perfection. Words can't describe this place, just go there and try it!

I had a rare filet Oscar and the mushrooms and onions on the side. Steak was prepared very well. Maybe slightly a bit salty. But otherwise great!

Beautiful old bank building converted into 50's style steakhouse. Dark woods, marble, very nice atmosphere. Steaks were very good. Salad and sides okay. Think you can get steaks similar quality in any host of places. Waiter pushed the wedge salad, did not enjoy. Go for the atmosphere and decor, really just another high end steak place.

The big wow is the 40s/50s decor. But the food's something to write home about too. Not to mention the service. Highly recommend it especially if you're celebrating.

I went there to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and I had made a reservation through opentable. When I arrived the hostess greeted us warmly and they had assigned us a prime table. The waitress was very warm, courteous and friendly. The crowd was mostly of middle age to old wealthy people, and a look at the pricing for the menu... More

We had a great experience at Butcher and Singer. Everything was so good. From the rolls, the Onion Soup to my perfect filet Mignon and my husband's swordfish, we had a great meal. The stuffed hash brown potatoes were to die for, so yummy. Our server, Rickie was wonderful. not only knowledgeable of the food but also the history of... More

On a recent visit to Philly, dined at Butcher and Singer to celebrate a 65th birthday! Even though we had reservations and had to wait 30 minutes for a table, our experience was still outstanding. As an apology for the wait, management comped us a round of drinks. Besides the authentic 1940's/1950's decor, the dining room and bar had a... More
