We were in Philly for a weekend from Boston. Two spoiled foodies in search of yammi goodness. After thorough research we settled on Zahav. From the start, the service was fantastic, drinks offered while we waited for a bar seat (no tables were available). We didn't have to wait long, the menu is not extensive but has really good variety.... More

My wife and I chose the tasting menu. It was our anniversary and we were not going to miss the opportunity to have the best combination of foods and flavors the staff could execute. They produced their own take on many common middle eastern dishes, and each was distinct and engaging. Every part of the meal was tops in flavor,... More

The food was great at this place, but the tasting menu is a lot of food. If you are not starving, I would suggest trying a few dishes. The hummus was outstanding. The salads (six different ones) were very good. I could have finished at this point, but we had three more courses. The waiter made a nice suggestion on... More

I had not expected to eat so much. It was a huge meal - one of the chef tasting offerings. Three of us tucked into it and ate ourselves into oblivion. Let me say that the hummus was the best I've ever eaten. Followed by small dishes - haloumi, salads, eggplant, cod, sable, and more - that just kept on... More

Kate and I learned about Zahav from having seen it on television and added it to our list of restaurants to round out our first trip to Philadelphia. We were thrilled to learn they offered a chef’s tasting option on the menu, called “Mesibah" and we selected it without any hesitation. Our dinner began with undoubtedly the best hummus we... More

This restaurant has wonderful middle eastern food, excellent lamb, hummus, and a number of plates that can be shared. Most of us at our table did actually share the foods so we could have a more diverse experience. Be sure to book way ahead as it is difficult to get a reservation. It is will worth the wait though!!

I have been to many middle eastern themed restaurants but this one is head and shoulders above all the rest. The small plates concept is ideal if you want to taste many menu items. We started with the salad samples and hummus. The salads were all very special and different. We were served 6!! My fave was the eggplant puree... More

This is an israel restaurant and the food is pretty typical mideastern food--but excellent quality. The pitas were exceptional. Hummus is delicious. roasted Chicken had a great mix of spices. Lamb was amazing. Short list of craft cocktails--my group tried several and they were delicious and interesting.

My sister and I were in Philly specifically for the Philadelphia Museum of Art Show at the Convention Center in November, and had made reservations well in advance for Zahav (a good decision because we might not have been seated otherwise). The restaurant is filled with a happy buzz of conversation. Expect upbeat vibes and fabulous, and I do mean... More
