I've eaten here 4 times over several years. I am consistently impressed with the service and the food. The atmosphere is great too. For those who moan about the price vs. the quantity of food, I must disagree. There is an appetizer which, for $34, is enough food to satisfy two people FOR DINNER! We went last week as a... More

Had never eaten Israeli food and had heard good things about it. This restaurant had good reviews and someone else told us about it. Tried it. Yes - it's very different. But the food was v good. Portions very small and tapas like - so works out expensive for what you get. Not sure it's that suitable for kids -... More

Came here with some friends, not all of whom are adventurous eaters. We loved everything we tried, but especially the hummus with vegetable tapas, the roasted cauliflower and the branzino. The atmosphere is great with beautiful seating and lighting and drapes of silk around the banquets in the back room. And the bar makes the perfect Grey Goose martinis -... More

I'm still not convinced that this is one of the top restaurants in Philadelphia. It's an interesting concept with unique food, but we found it to be a bit on the pricey side for the amount of food you get. Maybe I'm just not that adventurous of an eater, but some of the salads were not my cup of tea.

We very much enjoyed the excellent Middle Eastern food here, served in a "tapas" style of several small plates. There are both "safe" and "adventurous" alternatives to satisfy a wide variety of appetites. However, it was rather pricey for the amount of food that was served and might therefore be limited to special occasions for most people. It is my... More

Beautiful restaurant. Extensive and interesting "tapas" style food. Our server was quite attentive and had good suggestions for us as first time diners. Nice choice of free sparkling or ice water. Our only complaint was that the restaurant was a bit noisy, and conversation was difficult. Reserve early, as this place books up quickly.

I spent a time living and studying in Israel...that time was crucial to my personal development and the flavours of food & wine there are an "instant synaptic reconnect" with that time in my life! On occasion, I'd have a good falafel or shawarma here or there or hummus with pine nuts or lamb, that reminded me of Israel...However, My... More

I have been wanting to come here a long time, and have had trouble getting a Saturday night reservation on my last 2 visits to Philly. So, when I was going to be in town on a weekday, I rushed to reserve. This is basically middle-eastern small-plates, with a great mideast-yet-modern airy ambiance. Staff were gracious and professional. But the... More

I can sum up my dinner at Zahav in 1 word: "Wow." The food was delicious. Despite the fact that it is a tappas style restaurant, you will still be stuffed. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and they were even kind enough to give us a celebratory drink on the house. The service was excellent; our waiter... More

We had the tasting menu which was very reasonably priced at $40 each. All the items we ordered were excellent. I would high recommend the duck kebabs, and the kebbe. The beet hummus was also. The service and server were also very good. The only slightly negative is that I felt the wine list could have been a little stronger.... More
