Great Food. The Salatim: Small plates of different vegetable salads: Roasted Eggplant, Spicy Carrot, Beet and Tahini, Green Beans, etc are excellent. Perhaps the finest and freshest Hummus you've ever tasted. Fresh laffa - flat bread. Small portions of fish, ground lamb, etc. The best roasted lamb shoulder in America (North, South and Central). The lamb shoulder is a hugh... More

The food was fantastic, but if you have been reading other reviews, you already know that. The best advice I can give is to save your appetite. One person in our party ordered the tasting menu, and we were so in love with the first round of mezze (salatim & hummus with laffa) that we filled up, thinking the lamb... More

We have the "tasting menu" which was excellent. It was my birthday celebration and this restaurant if "middle east gourmet." It is interesting to note that the Israeli chef/owner before the grand opening managed to take his staff to Israel to become familiar with the different spices used in middle east cuisine. It was too bad that I asked two... More

I enjoyed a fabulous meal with two of my girlfriends. We sampled multiple things from the menu. Everything was top notch. The staff recommended a wine to be served with the food. The price point for the wine was just right and it complimented the food well.

We went by chance without booking in advance but it was certainly worth the wait. The best meal we have had on our three week trip from The Keys to NewYork.

Nestled away, in a residential complex, Zahav is a true gem, perhaps the best restaurant in Philadelphia. I read about this spot and had to visit. We did not have reservations but were lucky to find bar seating on a Sunday night around 6:30pm. The place was busy and the atmosphere was streamlined but comfortable. The bartender Chris, took care... More

Seven years after opening, Zahav is still a hot restaurant, and for good reasons. The food, service, atmosphere, and overall experience are all world class. This eastern Mediterranean restaurant from Israeli chef and owner, Michael Solomonov, pretty much covers the very best culinary classics of Lebanon and Israel, and throws in some new classics. Getting a reservation is easy on... More

We came here to celebrate my best friend's 50th birthday on a scary rainy night--fire trucks were blocking two of the surrounding streets and power was affected. We were late for our seating and very appreciative that they held our table. Lighting in the restaurant was affected, wall lights went from normal to barely perceptible in a very intermittent fashion.... More

The atmosphere in Zahav was very lively and felt like an Israeli street market with so much going on and the ability to see the chef's preparing your food (varies depending on where you sit). The food is small sharing plates of which I tried almost everything - the food was very tasty, but not filling. I would recommend an... More
