A bit dingy, but classical pub food

The place is bit dingy, but definitely worth the stop! If fancy and new isn't your thing, stop here for some good grub and an IPA or whatever type suits your fancy. The good old time NW pub atmosphere will be many times more memorable than the standard cafe. It even comes complete with boxes... read more

We absolutely love Toby's! The Mussels in white wine sauce served with sourdough baguettes was delish! We are totally spoiled for Mussels! The pub is quaint, comfortable, and food is great! Only one downside, and that was the limitation of 21 and up (on age- as it is a tavern) We wanted to go in and have lunch several times,... More

Delicious, delicious, delicious. Toby's is a small bar/pub. Sorry 21+ only. Located on the penn cove shores this small pub has been there for awhile. Classic pub. Lovely views, great location. When we go we eat the buckets of specialty prepared penn cove mussels with the bread and a nice tall beer. Servers are really nice and this is a... More

We ate dinner there and enjoyed a bit of the "local flavor." Our first impression was the manager? Owner? Who came over and just signed away. With my husband, David being Deaf, we appreciated her going out of her way to communicate with us. The waitress (I believe her name was Amy) was AMAZING. She had a grin that was... More

Next time I eat Penn Cove messes in the Seattle area, I'll remember the ones I had at Toby's. Incredible! It appears this is where the locals eat, and hang on a rainy night. The service is good and friendly. The beer is cold. Salad look about average, but huge.

An eclectic decorative setting, a view of the harbor, cold beers on tap, properly prepared bar food, and entertaining staff who are attentive to their "regulars" and new-comers alike. What could be more fun?! I've been there a couple of times (once for the mussels, and once for the fish and chips) and each was an enjoyable experience. Don't miss... More

Disgusting mussels. We had delicious mussels the previous night at Christopher's Restaurant up the street but these mussels were truly awful. We barely finished our lunch. At least a quarter of our mussels were empty shells with no meat. At $25 for 2 #'s it was little pricey as well. The waitress stood around a lot and refused to take... More

Toby's has that old-timers' tavern look and feel. Bar with stools, booths along the perimeters, and an old pool table in the middle. We stopped for a cold beer in the afternoon. We can't review the food because we didn't have any. The waitress was neither friendly nor unfriendly. They feature Toby's Parrot Red Ale which we tried and it... More

I couldn't say it was one of the best meals I've had in a restaurant but it was definitely the best mussel chowder I've had anywhere. I've had clam and oyster chowder but his was with mussels and obviously the fresh, just plucked from the water mussels had a lot to do with it, it was tasty and perfect in... More

Going to Toby's is about more than dining. It is an Experience. The food is quite good, though the menu is limited essentially to bar food. They don't have the largest selection in draft beers and they are certainly not one of the blossoming number of high end Washington wine bars. The place is fairly small and usually crowded. There...
