Great meal

We had the restaurant practically to ourselves on the early May evening that we went. We ordered the special which was halibut wrapped in kale and served on a bed of shiitake mushrooms. Went for our first dinner there to help celebrate a friend's birthday. The food and libations were wonderful and the owners gracious and knowledgable. We all enjoyed ourselves and felt very lucky to have such a first class restaurant in our area.

Talk about commitment to fresh ingredients, they go to the nettle patch and harvest those stinging plants in the morning. When they show up in your soup dish, all is forest green smoothness, with the sting long since banished during preparation. This level of attention is taken with all courses. Penn Cove mussels, best since Venice, Italy says my wife,... More

I dine out a lot and consider myself not only a foodie, but also a bit of a food snob. I normally don’t write/post reviews about the restaurants I patronize. However, I had such a surprisingly pleasant experience when passing through Coupeville, Washington, I had to share my experience. My wife and I had never been to Coupeville before and... More

This was a WONDERFUL meal. Not only does it have a beautiful view, it is small, the food is meticulously prepared. Reservations for special events is a must, but I think they would be a good idea anyway. We started with the oysters broiled with shallots, hazelnuts and bacon. Yum. Too bad there were only 4 since we split it.... More

I have lived on Whidbey for 6 years and I hadn't heard about this gem. Went there recently and everything we had was cooked to perfection.. My date had the beef and it was fabulous flavor was wonderful. I had the special of scallops, sautéed kale, mushrooms and pasta, excellent preparation. A little spendy but at least the meal was... What a great meal, interesting cocktail options as well. Service was very good. For our dinner my wife had the beef that was perfectly cooked medium rare. I had the rabbit ragout, which was very good, perfectly seasoned. The menu was varied and we found the portions to be perfect size, actually should have just shared a dessert, the beignet... More

We found this place overpriced, pretentious and small portions...it was very good, what we had just not up to the price. And we'll pay for really great food. We were here for lunch on a weekend. The view was nice from the windows overlooking the bay. The wait staff wasn't at the same quality the place was trying to display... More

Having visited Coupeville in the past, I was prepared for an average dinner, nothing bad, just nothing exciting. Oystercatcher blew me away. While the menu is somewhat limited, I had a hard time narrowing down my choices. We started with a half dozen oysters with a delightful mignotte. We also had the duo of rillettes with an extra side of... More

The menu is, well, strange. Different types of food you definitely won't find anywhere else. We had a gift certificate, so we decide to try it out. It's a little spendy, so not sure we'd choose it again. The duck I had though was actually pretty fantastic!
