The food was horrible and cold. The service was bad. The views are good. My husband was served a bottle of beer, no glass. I had soup, but no soup spoon. The plates were cold and so the food was cold. The waiter came with the check without ever asking if we wanted coffee or tea. Definitely, not worth the... More

I had steak which was tasty and cooked just right along with the sautéed mushrooms. My husband had ling cod and a purée of cauliflower and potatoes. While the food tasted fine, the presentation could definitely use some livening up. Some vegetables to add a little color would help tremendously. My husband's plate was just a white blob and he... We decided to have lunch at the Capt. Whidbey Inn ;sat week. we had read the reviews and decided to check it out for ourselves. We were welcomed as we entered this beautiful log Inn. We had a choice of eating on the deck, overlooking Penn Cove, the dining room or Judge Still's tavern. We chose the dining room. We... More

I had read some negative reviews of the restaurant and was a little wary, but decided as I arrived that day, that I would eat at the restaurant. What a good decision it turned out to be. I had a cup of the seafood chowder, a side salad and the half plate of fried oysters. The portions are large. I... More

This restaurant has a fabulous view of Penn Cove, and has a very nice "feel". However, the staff (both the person who greeted us at the door and our waiter) were not friendly. We arrived mid-week in low season, the restaurant was completely empty and the front desk person looked up at us and asked, with attitude, "do you have... More

$28 steak. Had better at Denny's. Very, very cheap cut. The staff was friendly but the food was below expectation.

Really excellent dinner selection. The wine is mostly local Washington wine which can be excellent but not always. I had some of the happy hour wine and would rate it as adequate. Great service here by the way. Staff is very friendly, and love to talk about their island.

I made reservations for my boyfriends birthday, I can't rave enough. Delicious!!! It was amazing food. I read a couple reviews that the service was slow but I found the opposite. It's fine dining not fast food. Our waitress Sheree, was attentive and genuine. She checked in on us just enough to not bother our romantic dinner but just enough... More

My daughter, new grand-baby and I stayed at the Captain Whidbey Inn. We received vouchers for their restaurant. While pricey, we thoroughly enjoyed each meal, the wait staff and the setting. The deck is tiered so everyone has a water view. It is upscale casual and there is ample seating. You can choose a standard table, or comfy outdoor chairs... More

Not open every day for lunch so check. Limited selection. Three of us had different lunches and were all delighted. All ingredients were super fresh and beautifully cooked, which excuses the slowness. I had the best sea food chowder ever,so fresh and creamy. The chef was new and excellent. The waterfront lawn and picturesque old inn make a lovely setting.... More
