Lovely fish taco

We ate lunch here and had a really good meal. You get tortilla chips and spicy salsa as you arrive. I have always wanted to try fish taco and I wasn't disappointed. It was fresh with plenty of coriander. I had a chimichanga and was disappointed that it did not come with sauce. It would really... read more

Tasted like a home-cooked meal, not like a chain restaurant. We didn't see any other Mexican restaurant in the area so gave it a try. Cheese enchilada and chile relleno were ok and rice seemed like we were getting the last bit before closing. Everything was a tad overcooked. Kids loved their bean and cheese burritos. Waitresses were not friendly... More

We found some excellent original Mexican cuisine at this place. The service as a bit slow at times, but acceptable. It appeared to be family owned & operated, so don't go here if you're looking for anything close to elegant.

This restaurant is in an old house at 3711 Main Street. Delicious smells surround you the moment you open the door. It is family owned and everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. The chicken tamales were so flavorful, just perfect. The ceviche taco was also excellent. The service was not only cheerful but helpful with the menu. There were six of... More

Horrible service! Packed with people and most of the patrons didn't have their food yet. Food was very substandard. Automatic refresher was hung above our table and spritz some chemical all around our food. When we walked into the restaurant the heater was set at a very high temperature 80° There are Plenty of other Mexican restaurant's to try.

This was our first time visiting The Loco Frijole and our meal was excellent. They have typical Mexican specialties as well as more authentic Mexican offerings such as lengua, burria, tripe, pozole and napolitos. The chips & salsa were fresh and plentiful, and the service was attentive even though it was fairly crowded for a mid-week Monday night. The prices... More

It's a family run restaurant and it shows. I eat here 2-3 times a week and it's always good. Great lunch specials, Pozole on weekends. Love the Chili Verde. Very reasonable for the Mammoth area where everything seems expensive.

The Lopez family makes some sweet Mexican grub! This is Mammoth, official ski hill of SoCal, whose official cuisine is Mexican, so there's a high bar. Conveniently when you have an authentic Mexican family, odds are in your favor. And the Lopez's don't disappoint. Aside from the fact that family is a fixture in the Mammoth community, the food is... Ok, we are born-and-raised Angelenos, so we grew up enjoying some of the best and most authentic(as well as some of the worst) Mexican food. But we were blown away by the fine meal we enjoyed at the Loco Frijole. Who knew some of the best Al Pastor could be found in the Eastern Sierra?? We ate there on a... More
