For over 40 years we have been stopping for breakfast at The Stove when visiting the Mammoth Lakes, summer or winter. Of course, The Stove is our favorite breakfast option and last week was no exception. We arrived at 6:30 AM on a Tuesday, several booths were already full, and were greeted with a smile and escorted to our table.... More

We had just pulled into town from a three hour drive and this was a great find. Neat small town feel restaurant. Great service and great food. I had a good burger with a choice of fries or salad. I went with the salad and it was huge and great! My wife had the Tuna Melt, she said it was... More

The Stove is a must and a tradition for our family and friends. The atmosphere is country kitchen. The breakfasts are out of this world, hearty and great for beginning a day of hiking. It is located on the Old Mammoth Road. Get there early as the place has a great reputation and can become crowded with a wait for... More

My fishing buddies and I had dinner at about 8:55pm at The Stove in Mammoth Lakes one night last week. (We just barely squeaked in before the 9:pm closing time.) I had the home cooked meatloaf special with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was a huge slab and very tasty. We liked the small homestyle eatery so much that we... More

We always make a stop at the Stove when we are in Mammoth. It's worth a wait for a table. I had The Regular with ham this time, was wonderful! My husband had the prime rib hash and that was delicious too! The service was great! We had a nice pitcher of mimosas along with breakfast. Looks like a nap... More

Stopped here for dinner as it was convenient to walk to from motel across the street. Food didn't wow me, but it was good average food served by friendly staff. There wasn't anything wrong with the food or service, just nothing special. Prices were good, so I can't really complain. Sort of like Denny's or similar chain restaurants, except this... More

This was our first time here. We were greeted warmly and even with a party of 6 on Sunday morning, were seating quickly. We had an awesome waitress and our coffee never hit bottom. The food was excellent. You could tell the make the food from scratch.

The menu's changed over the years since we've eaten here, but The Stove is still wonderful for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Nothin' fancy about The Stove and it has no pretensions; just "country cookin'" as advertised. Service is good, friendly, and prompt.

I had dinner here and breakfast the following day. The quality of the food was very gooood, like an amish restaurant. I had the chicken fried steak and it was tender and tasteful, the cakes were homemade.

Dinner very spotty on quality and average at best. The dishes were generous but just ordinary! Would not go there again!
