Nice view, intimate, great service

I love this place. It is our go to place for special occasions or when we want a great dinner. Last time I had the carrot ginger soup, so smooth and great flavor. The soups are always great, everything from scratch. I also had the Venison........it was perfect. It is best to eat Venison rare and it... read more

On our recent vacation to the Mammoth Lakes area, we drove over to sightsee at Convict Lake. On our way back to the highway, we stopped for lunch at The Restaurant at Convict Lake. Nestled near the base of the mountains, the outdoor dining of the restaurant was sheltered by a delightful stand of aspens, which kept the heat of... More

We come here at least once every summer during out visit to Mammoth Lakes. This year we came twice. It's hard to believe that this outstanding restaurant exists out here nest to Convict Lake. If you come up to this area, be sure to have a meal here. The entrees are not inexpensive, at about $40, but the food is... More

The Restaurant at Convict Lake is a starred find. At The Convict Lake Resort in the Mammoth Lakes area. I had a wonderful tender filet mignor and my wife had an excellent Scottish Salmon dish. Both were prepared to perfection. This is certainly worth the time and effort as one transits the Eastern Sierra front.

I have been dining at this quaint restaurant for over 20 years. The food and wine is consistently good and this time it did not disappoint. The portions are large so we shared entrees. We had for appetizer Roasted Garlic with Crostini-flavorful, Caesar Salad - very good, Beef Wellington-excellent, Filet Mignon-melted in your mouth, Belgian Chocolate Ganache-decadent. If there is... I read reviews on the Poblano bisque but had no idea how great it was! Definetly the highlight of my meal and a recipe I must try to recreate. I had the Osso Buco which was slightly overcooked but still had fantastic flavor. Can't recall what the hubby had (maybe filet mignon) but he was beyond pleased with the meal.... More

This restaurant was good but overall I would pass and go to mammoth. Went with family and soon discovered that it was way too expensive....dad and hubby had steak and it was to die for....salad, kids meal (spaghetti) and risotto was average. Would have been a nice couples dinner but had the whole family ( parents, hubby, 2 kids and... More

We had an awesome, excellent time and meal. Sweet Potato with ginger soup, sea bass with parsnips puree, carrots pureed and roasted red onion. Fabulous, and I don't use that word much. For dessert, Steve our much appreciated waiter, suggested the Apple pie with carmel, marspone and home made ice cream. What a winner. The wine list is perfect. For... More

We had dinner at the restaurant one night and everything was impressive, especially considering the remote location. Beef Wellington was excellent and the Bananas Foster was both experiential and delicious. The food and ambience were so good we came back the next night and ate dinner in the bar.

We were staying at the Convict Lake Resort and as a winter special received a gift certificate as part of our package. The restaurant only serves dinner in the winter. We were seated next to the centralized island fireplace and with snow coming down and the sun setting it made for a very romantic atmosphere. The service was fantastic, in... More
