Decent

I wanted to try some Chinese food. I really liked the appetizers here. We had the lettuce wraps and wontons. The cocktails were kind of wierd with odd ingredients. Saki was served cold. Our main dishes were good. I had Kung Pau Chicken. Some of the others at the table were less impressed... read more

Cool decor and ambiance-- lotsa red lanterns. Mix of booths and tables. Quiet but not silent on a Sunday around 6pm. Locals and tourists. Relatively poor service (only check with us once) combined with average food. We had mongolian beef & kung pao chicken. Food was okay and arrived quickly. Not cheap, but not outa line either ($14 per entree)... More

Was recently on a trip in Mammoth with my sons and some friends. We were staying at the Sierra Nevada Resort and Spa. Anyway, we all decided to eat at the Red Lantern one night. This place was so cool, and not just because of the wooden bears wearing traditional Asian conical hats in front of the restaurant! The red... More

Finally, an amazing Chinese in Mammoth. I think it's been here a couple of years, but we just checked it out a few days ago. Definitely have the Won Ton Soup. One order serves at least two. Really tasty! The lettuce cups .... Are amazing and served with bib lettuce that doesn't break apart as much as ice berg. For... More

I have never tasted Chinese food this bad. We ordered several dishes, kung pao chicken, beef broccoli, combination fried rice, egg drop soup, orange chicken and noodles. When we got home the noodles were not in the bag. Guess they saved us from another bad dish. If my friend had not purchased the food, I would not have eaten this... More

Very yummy and diverse dishes. Service was nice and the menu was a great selection of different dishes. THey even had a lamb dish whis was good, yet rare to see on a Chinese menu.

very average indeed. Egg rolls were greasy, but could have overlooked that, after all they're fried, but the broccoli in the 'beef and broccoli' was cut very large (and with chopsticks you can't cut it smaller) and absolutely saturated with oil. The beef was all right, but the steamed rice was too sticky and mushy. When the broccoli was mentioned... More

My family and I stayed at The Sierra Nevada Resort and were recommended by one of the employees to try Red Lantern.(One of the THREE restaurants connected to the Resort). Our taste buds were extremely happy and so were all of us. We had the Orange Chicken, sweet and sour shrimp, beef and broccoli, egg rolls, and chicken fried rice.... More

Decided to have dinner in town before going home. Man am I glad we did. Chef Richie had a great special going on with WonTon Mein soup. Complete with char Sui, house made wontons, thick noodles, mushrooms, and green onions. Oh ya, there was plenty of fresh garlic and ginger too. We also had an order of salt and pepper... More
