You usually do not think of ribs at a Mexican restaurant but time to think differently. Their as use is great. A sweet chipotle sauce. Make sure you get extra napkins.

So glad you liked the ribs! We make that sauce using a few secret ingredients including a very smoky distilled Mezcal... of course, that's just the Gomez way. Thanks for the shout. Hope you have a wonderful summer. Salud! More

We ate at Gomez on Tuesday 22 July 2014, the previous reviews suggest that this place is fantastic/good/ok. All I can say is the service and food was awful, staff running about like headless chickens, there didn't appear to be any system or management. When the food arrived it was stone cold, we ordered fajitas which in my experience are... More

Well we are so sorry. Just know we read every review and discuss them with Management. We would love to have a second chance as obviously there are many positive experiences as well, but we understand completely that we let you down. If by chance you would consider us in the future, our General Manager would be happy to meet... More

TRENDY BUT NOT MEXICAN ENOUGH! Pretty spendy and just decent food! But being in the village at base of the gondola, I guess that figures...? Laurie the afternoon bartender was the only highlight!

Thanks so much for stopping by. No doubt about half our menu are traditional family recipes (but "authentic Mexican" can vary a lot from one part of the country to another) the other is perhaps best categorized as Latin Fusion. We greatly appreciate your stopping by our place and Mammoth / Yosemite. Safe travels! More

If you are looking for a GREAT margarita then look no more! All of the food is fresh with a great presentation but the margaritas are to die for! If you are a family with young kids (under 12) then you can enjoy your margarita while the kids play in a large sand box filled with sand toys. I always... More

Now located in the Village, Gomez continues to produce great Mexican food in a more upscale setting. You can eat a huge meal or a light one. The albondigas soup is excellent--doesn't skimp on the meatballs.

We ate here because we've walked by it every night while staying in the Village and it's always got people eating so I figured it must be good. It's got a lovely outside area and even a sandbox with toys for kids to play with. The menu is decent and have ok prices. We were all pleased with our meals.

I always lower my expectations when I get a place like this, thinking it will be a tourist trap with mediocre predictable food at inflated prices. But no, I was pleasantly surprised. The menu has a good bit of flair and my wife and I shared an excellent carnitas plate and green chile pork (tender and tasty) while the kids... More

Thanks so much for stopping by and giving us a chance. We work very hard to shake the stereotypes that many resort restaurants have. We actually are a small group of local family and friends that work hard and really want our guests visiting Mammoth/Yosemite to have a great experience. Thanks for including us in yours. Salud! The food amid service were both very good at Gomez'. Some of e best in the Village I'd say. Best part was the massive tequila menu and the Mammoth Margaritas. To die for!

Given it looks like you know Las Vegas and it's food and bar scene, we are thrilled to hear the word "powerful" used in describing our Mammoth Margarita! That is so fun! We work very hard to make that and our 500+ bottle selection of Tequila top shelf. Anyway, thanks so much for the shout out! Safe Travels. Hope we... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the food. The tamales were delicious. We actually returned a second time so I could have the tamales again. If available, request a table on the outdoor patio.

Hey thanks so much for visiting and your kind words on the Tamales. Rosa is a "specialist" in our kitchen who does nothing else for us but hand-prepare Masa and make our tamales. They run to the "authentic/traditional" side of our menu in terms of taste with many fine reviews. Should we ever get a chance to tempt you to... More

I should preface my review by noting I'm a hard audience when it comes to Mexican food. So I actually didn't have high expectations. I was greeted by a nice kid who found me an excellent outside table on a beautiful day. A lot was going on in the area, so I wasn't sure I could get a good table.... More
