Great food great service. Had a fun evening here, service was great and quick. Kids were happy, and the portions were too big for us..

I try to not hit the big joints in the Village, as food and service have never been very good, and Gomez's is the worse of the worse. The margarita's taste like there is still dish soap in the glasses. No one at our table could even finish half there drink. Absolutely disgusting. And the food isn't much better. I... More

Gomez has a great location in the Village with a place for the kiddies to play while waiting for the food. However, service was slow, the food was just okay, and the prices are a bit high for what you get.

Sorry that the service was a bit slow on your visit. That is always frustrating. But thanks so much for stopping by. Wish it could have been a stronger positive experience for you but we are grateful that you came by and hope you'll give Mammoth in general many more visits. More

The Gomez mammoth restaurant host was rude and the food came wrong and when I asked the manager and the waitress said the manager was not there(?) and no one take the responsible for rudeness nor the wrong food. Ruin one of our family vacation night. No more Mexican food during mammoth trip.....

So sorry! That is really not our standard practice. There should have been someone on the floor always to help. Moreover, we should have gotten it right in the first place. Our servers have been trained to be accommodating so this is disappointing. Thanks so much for the heads up and hope you travel to Mammoth / Yosemite was enjoyable... More

Quick little Mexican food after skiing. It was really busy. Waited about one hour. Pretty good overall. Had the vegetarian fajita and the chips kept coming. Was a little dirty (pre New Year's Eve bash) which was disappointing. But was worth the quick meal.

Gomez's has some great vegetarian options and I hear the margaritas are good. The line can be long, but our experience over many visits is that the hostess tells you the wait will much longer than it actually ends up being. Good chips too.

GomezsMammoth, Owner at Gomez's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, responded to this review

Thanks so much for visiting and trying some of our vegetarian choices. We love having variety on our menu so that anyone can find something to enjoy. No doubt there are times when we are really popular but we really try to hustle and shorten the wait whenever possible. Snow is looking good so far... safe travels and many returns!... More

Okay, what do I know about authentic Mexican, I'm a gringo. But I know I love hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants and that is where Gomez's got its start ..... in that little A-frame down the road from its current up-scale location. Now that they're in The Village, they've had to gentrify (and somewhat modify) their menu but mama's authenticity still comes... More

Thanks so much for your kind words and support. Yes we have had to make some changes and will always have affection for our little A-Frame. But, we have also worked hard to keep hold of the good from our past as well and are grateful you noticed! As for take-out, believe me we would love to do it as... More

We tend to go to Gomez's on off times, and we usually share their carnitas plate. It is always delicioso!
