I like asking the wait staff what they think is exceptionally prepared, and am often guided by it. In this case, I do think we got the best they had, and both pasta dishes, while certainly edible, had a significant imbalance where one element highly overpowered other elements of the dish. It was mid-week, and I'm wondering if there was... More

My wife and I have dined here many times. This is probably our favorite restaurant in the area. The chef/owner Santo is personable and tries to make excellent meals for each of his guests. The food is invariably excellent. The porcini ravoli are my favorite. It is B.Y.O.B. They also do parties, and special occasions. It is small, in the... More

If you are looking for a romantic spot for dinner in Bethlehem, this is our favorite. Chef Santo prepares stunningly excellent and innovative Italian dishes, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is perfect for an intimate dining experience. Chef Santo's porcini mushroom ravioli, sea bass and mixed seafood dishes are among our favorites. Tre Scalini is also BYOB, so... More

On a return trip I decided to give this place a second shot. This time the experience was much better than the last. The service was very friendly and professional without being overbearing. Once a loud obnoxious group of 12 left the place had a nice tranquil calm and class. Not too sure about the policy of having large groups... More

My family and I visited the restaurant this past Friday nite(Aug 2) for a birthday dinner. The ambience of restaurant really nice, the waiter was great .We liked the fact that it is a BYOB.However if you go to restaurant please be aware of very pricey specials.I ordered the arugula salad with the shaved parmesan on top( that was it) and truffle... The ambiance and service were excellent. It's a BYOB so we had an overdose of wine. The octopus appetizer was OK and the main courses were OK. We paid 120.00 per couple including a 20 percent tip for table of eight.

Santo, the owner, preps and cooks everything in this modestly-sized, white tablecloth BYOB that delivers an outsized experience. We have been going there since the place first opened years ago and have always had a wonderful meal. The pasta is cooked beautifully and the meat sauce the best I have ever tasted- rich, creamy and a generous portion (as are... More

The five members of my book club dined at Tre Scalini...all were very satisfied with the appetizers and the entrees. Beautiful presentations, great food. We ordered two desserts to share and were pleasantly surprised as to how good they were. Our waiter very generously offered to give us separate checks however this ended up not in our favor. We had... More

TerWe had a wonderful dinner! The service and ambiance were perfect. For antipasti, we had Mozzarella Napoleone served with roasted red peppers, a great combination and impressive way to start the meal. There was a terrific selection of ten or more pasta dishes on the menu. The Tre Scalini Bolognese with homemade pappardelle was served piping hot and was absolutely... More
