Shopping and pub all in one

Store downstairs has a lot of authentic Irish "stuff"....upstairs is a neat little eatery. Fish and chips looking awesome. Scones in the "bakery", also looked mouth watering. We had a couple of beers. We just ate lunch at another place which is why we only looked at the food. Next time in... read more

I enjoyed a tasty ploughman's lunch; and even at half portion it was plenty filling and tasty. Too early for guiness, but had a great cup of tea. Browsed the store and found a few things I couldn't live without, some great boots and head gear too. Returned later for music at 8 with the cleric rebels, good duo. Enjoyed... More

Lively atmosphere but not too noisy. Guinness on tap of course and nice selection of authentic foods. Don't miss the baked goods at the cash register.

McCarthy's Tea Room has been converted to McCarthy's Red Stag Pub and is a hidden gem in Bethlehem, PA. If you are in the mood to party with great Irish beer, Irish music and food you've got to make the trip to McCarthys. Be sure to try the wild boar burger, cottage pie, shepherd's pie, or ploughman's lunch . For... More

Came here with some friends during Restaurant week for the first time. Enjoyed the scotch egg with some bangers and mash. The place is cute, a tight fit but cozy. Food was pretty good, wish I had been around for some live entertainment. I look forward to going back.

Don't get me wrong. I love going to the shop under the tea room. I love the tea. But the cottage pie was so obviously packaged, frozen and heated in a microwave that I was literally embarrassed for the staff. Never going again. Yuck, yuck, yuck y'all!

Very nice place to have a cheese plate and a cup of tea. Not very many tables but you can usually get a seat quick Depending on the time of year. You can get a pot of tea here that you can't find anywhere else. It's also a very quick walk from the public parking garage.

A much improved renovation of what was always a great stop. With a full bar, great foods, and comfortable ambience, this place is well worth the trip. It's not pretentious or 'upscale,' but its a special experience. Highly recommended.
