It is the desire of 1741 on the Terrace to engage you and invite you. Try something new or revisit something familiar but above all -- enjoy. Relax in the ambiance of the room – the beautiful Moravian tile floor and soaring Palladian windows. Admire the charming downtown of Bethlehem with buildings and history dating back to the day in 1741 when the town itself was founded. The wine list - developed to inspire not to impress – is filled with wines from around the world, but with a focus on American wines. Frequent diners at finer restaurants will be impressed with the selection of wines available, but the list has been crafted to make the choices easy for a novice as well. Our sommelier is available to aid wine selection or custom pairings for any menu items upon request.

My wife ordered a medium-rare 8oz filet with mushrooms and I ordered the baked salmon. Both were done to perfection and served with delicious mashed potatoes and sautéed kale. One minor comment - the kale had a great taste but was a little chewy. Otherwise the meal was thoroughly enjoyable. We both... read more

We enjoyed a very friendly staff who welcomes us. Our waitor Bob always creates a marvelous welcome. I highly recommend eating here for the atmosphere and gifted pianist Paul Brazzo. The meal choices vary from fine foods to casual dining choices.

The ambiance and setting truly offer a breathtaking place to join groups of family and friends for occasions. Live piano music by Paul Brazzo most Saturday evenings relaxes and shares beautiful atmospheric sound while we converse and dine with family and old friends. I often schedule social gatherings like brunch as well and request Bob, our favorite waiter. Brunches are... More

Is a staple restaurant for me in Bethlehem, PA in a wonderful hotel of historical significance. The cuisine is vast, refined, but not overwhelming with a very solid wine list. The service was right on and a great atmosphere with lots of window exposure to the town below. This is just simply a solid stop for those who prefer a... More

We went here for dinner based upon the reviews. The location in historic Bethlehem is perfect. The location of the restaurant inside the Hotel Bethlehem is nice. It is beautiful inside. The ambiance for our dinner was really perfect, quiet, and personal. This is a perfect place to take your special someone for a quiet romantic meal. I had the... More

Although I did NOT stay at the Hotel Bethlehem, I DID eat at 1741 on the Terrace. I believe that this dining venue is excellent, & I hope to eat here again. I dined here on December 22nd, & I thank the staff team of Hotel Bethlehem for it's gracious & cordial service. -Ethan Lynch

I’m perplexed by the negativity of some recent reviews here. My wife and I dined at 1741 last weekend and had a thoroughly wonderful experience. Everyone around us seemed to be having a similar good time. After checking in at the Hotel Bethlehem, I inquired about reservations. “Nothing until 8:30,” I was told. Around 7PM, we headed downstairs to grab... More

We had Christmas dinner at this restaurant and it was absolutely terrible! The food was not edible, the staff was miserable and the service was deplorable. We will never return, dinner for 14, an absolutely terrible experience.

Sean L, Manager at 1741 on the Terrace, responded to this review

Dear Kathy B, We apologize to your family for our poor performance on Christmas Night. We clearly underestimated the staffing required to satisfy the unexpectedly large dinner demand that evening compared to prior years. In an attempt to allow some of our staff the opportunity to spend Christmas night with their families, we failed to restrict our reservation levels in... More

Every December my husband and I treat ourselves to a dinner at the 1741 On The Terrace at the Hotel Bethlehem the week of Christmas. The hotel and restaurant are beautifully decorated and the food and service at 1741 on the Terrace is exceptional. What a wonderful way to enjoy the holiday season.
