Decent Food, LONG Wait

The Tollroad restaurant is pretty much the only restaurant in the Stovepipe Wells area. It is located right next to the guest registration at the hotel and offers breakfast, to go lunches, and dinner. We only tried out dinner. Since this was the only place to eat in the area, it was a bit busy... read more

I was so thirsty; that kinda thirst you have after hiking while tripping in the desert. The wildflowers were having a party: yellows, whites, greens, purple, and so on were so happy! We searched for desert monsters but alas, not this day. On our return to civilization from Mosaic Canyon we stopped here. I was so thirsty that I ordered... More

This is the only restaurant for miles in Death Valley but it is very well managed and the food selection for breakfast, a buffet, and the lunch, which is served in the bar, and the dinners are all very good. They will also prepare a boxed lunch for the road, which is very handy as there is only one other... More

Good food at this restaurant. Was a bit short staffed, but there weren't many people there either. The menu had a wide variety of options and all looked good.

We at here before going up to Ubehebe Crater and by the time we got out it was getting rather dark. We can't blame the wait staff for the kitchen running slow, but we can be very critical of a waitress who walked past us three times without refilling our empty glasses of water and had to be asked for... Service was great. Food left a bit to be desired. I understand that it's in the middle of nowhere, but I had the ribs which were a bit dry and too spicy for my liking.

Nice atmosphere. Lots of movie posters for ones filmed in Death Valley. We had dinner and breakfast here as your eating options are very limited in the area. Both were very good, especially the breakfast buffet. Good menu selection, food was great and prices very good. Much better value than the places at Furnace Creek.

This is the only place to eat for miles around - fortunately they provided us with some excellent food at reasonable prices. The pulled-port tacos were nicely done and presented. The next night I had the prickly-pear chicken, which was excellent. Our server was friendly and provided us with good information about the food. Service was prompt.

I eat here when I'm staying at Stovepipe Wells because there is no other choice. It is industrial quality food and not cheap but you've really got no choice to may as well try to enjoy it. Salad bar is OK as a side but not as the main course. If your timing is off you may wait a long... More

We ate here while staying in Stovepipe Wells overnight during the general spring break/Easter time period, and fortunately we arrived around 6:30 for dinner and were seated immediately. They have a decent beer and wine selection considering the location, and our server was helpful and knowledgeable. My wife had the linguini and I had the flat iron steak. I ordered... More
