A once great place is now just avergae

Max and Erma's used to be a unique, very good place to eat. Now it's joined the long list of average places to go. Average food, so-so service and a pretty basic menu. There are better options out there.

Let me start out by saying I love their food. The fajita's are my favorite as well as their specialty salads. It's the service that I can no longer tolerate. On the last 3 or 4 visits, the service has continued to be a problem. We always go about 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm on a Saturday to miss the... More

So I wanted a burger. It comes with fries. I order CRISP fries - and I tell the waitress the key word in golden brown is BROWN. I get 2 orders of mushy yellow fries and just give up. the burger was ok, the service - not even that.

Similar to Applebee's or Friday's, but with a more interesting menu. Service was good and food was very good.

My wife and I had a good dinner here on our first night in town. Service was good and our server was very attentive and friendly. We were in a small dining area near the bar and close to the front entrance.... there were no issues with the noise level. We had the pretzel sticks as an appetizer and they... More

Staying at Hampton Inn looking for walking distance healthy dinner. Walked over to Max & Erma's, two blocks. Had chicken, rice, and asparagus dinner. Food was tasty and well prepared. Accompanied dinner with selection from broad array of beers. Ate at bar. Service, food, and restaurant decor were very good. Would return!

I ordered their top steak and it was served colder than the potatoes. When I asked the waitress I was told they could microwave my meal. I did not spend 17.00 dollars on a steak to have it microwaved. Avoid this place.

Several of us went to Max & Erma's for a late lunch. Unlike many restaurants in the early afternoon, we still received great, fast service and a hot, yummy lunch. No complaints!

We have been to this location many times of the years, and while the food has always been good, the service at our last couple of visits has been just short of terrible. Slow overall, we had to ask twice for condiments, and after sitting for nearly 15 minutes... When we were clearly finished, we had ask for the check.... More

Nice place, good food and very nice staff. Onion rings were delicious, I had a salad and it was huge, fresh and tasty. Service was fast too.
