Wonderful Mexican in an old Burger Death shell

Guacamole and fresh made tortilla chips to start. Quesadilla (chicken) and the chilies rellenos were fresh, tasty and generous portions. Love the fact that they serve Mexican made soft drinks (no corn syrup!). The decor is pure left-over Burger Chef formica, but who cares when the food is so... read more

I dined here the day after Christmas while visiting my family in Dayton. The customer service was horrible and the food was just mediocre. I ordered Chicken Campenos and wasn't told they were out of chorizo until I mentioned to the rude waitress it was missing from my dish. No apology no offer of a substitution. Of course the dining... Thought I would try it for the first time since I got a 6.00 off coupon from the Entertainment Book that they use to promote business.I started to look around and the place was filthy dirty tables.floors walls, the food all tasted the same.!and the two girls who worked there was rude.! and would not honor the coupon for face value...I... I read the other reviews and thought hey we will try this place! Bad idea I ordered 3 dif items and they all taste the same If that's authentic I'll pass I had a coupon from the entertainment book that let us save a $6 so I used it but they only took $2 off and were very rude about... More

Well - I was surprised that the restaurant was really a run down old fast food place and the bathroom was outside. Not fun when its cold outside. There are about 12 tables and the place got very busy right after we arrived around 1700. Almost every table was full and there were two servers staying very busy. The food... More

Finally, a real Mexican restaurant is available in the area. While there are Mexican foods I don't like such as tripe soup, it is good to know they are available. I find food in most area Mexican restaurants to be unlike any I ever had in Mexico or even NEW Mexico! Taqueria Mixteca is an exception. I had lunch there... More

This is the most awesome and authentic mexican food I have ever eaten. My husband and I love this restaurant and visit as often as possible. When anyone visits us we always take them to eat here. Service is wonderful, portions are huge, prices are perfect! If you come to Dayton, make sure to visit this little gem!!

Authentic and delicious. This little hole-in-the-wall is very good, but seating is limited so be prepared to wait during peak hours. Everything is delicious so give it all a try. The serving sizes are a good size, so you will not go away hungry.

So much of the food that we have in the U.S. that originated from another culture has been "Americanized" to make it more palatable for a wider audience. Visiting Taqueria Mixteca is like visiting a home kitchen in the Jalisco region of Mexico – freshly homemade and authentic. I had the chicken mole enchiladas. The chicken breast was fresh grilled... We've eaten at most of the Mexican restaurants in the area looking for real, authentic and tasty food and everything has come up short until now. This place is small and kind of sketchy looking but the food is amazing! It was so filling we had to get a to go box for most of it. There is free chips... More
