Its just down the street so I go there for lunch. I just get carry-out, so it is best to call ahead instead of waiting a long time at lunch time. Prices are good and I like that you get a choice of meat. I usually get a burrito for lunch. It is huge and will definitely fill you up,... More

Nothing fancy about this place — no booze, plastic furniture in a frumpy L shape — but the food is great (especially the huaraches), there are fresh juice drinks (cantaloup was especially flavorful), & the servers are friendly.

There are only a few places to get homemade style Mexican food in Dayton and not that commercial chain food. This is one of them and it is not bad. They offer authentic dishes at a very reasonable price. Open your mind and try something new. The chips and 3 salsa they offer when you sit down are an excellent... More

This is Dayton's highest rated Mexican restaurant on TripAdvisor. A city this size should have a better Mexican restaurant than this. I am a fan of authentic Mexican food. The food here was not particularly authentic or very good. Chorizo was more like ground beef. Beans and rice were blah. Restaurant had no character. Worst part was poor service. Very... More

The food was good. Felt that everything seemed to be authentic. We went on a Saturday and it was busy the whole time we were there - between the customers dining in and those with carry out orders. I had the steamed beef sandwich with was very good. However, next time I will go with a taco or burrito. The... More

When the waitress arrived I asked, “what was the best thing to order?” The waitress made one recommendation but two of the other patrons made another. I went with the odds. The food was nothing to write home about. Not bland but not spectacular. I was left with a strong after taste which later morphed into heart-burn. If you have... More

We found this place after a meeting at an out-of-the-way location in East Dayton. The restaurant looks like it was retrofitted from an abandoned gas station. The food is genuine Mexican, with a hardworking native staff. Each of the 4 of us at the table had a different meal-chicken, pork, shrimp & beef delicacies. Mine was a chicken enchilada meal.... We found Taqueria Mixteca on Yelp. The restaurant is housed in a very unassuming one-story building, with fluorescent lights and windows that allow you to see everyone inside. We arrived at 7 PM, Saturday night, with the place packed. Waitresses worked hard, walked fast, delivered fresh food quickly. It smelled great, like fresh vegetables, corn tortillas, meat cooking. I had... More

OK, title was the extent of my Mexican language, but I do love authentic Mexican food. I had done a search to find Mexican food while spending a few weeks visiting with my adult son who lives in Dayton and I found this place. I was pretty sure after looking at their menu online that this was likely my kinda... More

We were in Dayton for the weekend with our four kids and two grandparents and wanted something we would all like and not too fancy. We found it. Every dish we had was great. The service was great. Although the outside of the restaurant did not look like much, the inside was clean. The bathrooms are only accessible from the... More
