A good alternative to the Pine and the Oakwood Club

The place shows a feeling similar to its own direct competitors: The Pine Club and the Oakwood Club. Unfortunately, it does not have the same level of cusine and allure. Still, offers a good menu, a good choice of wines and an excellent service. You may want to go try it. And I am sure you'll be... read more

For me the Pine Club in Dayton, OH is the best steakhouse anywhere. We often visit relatives in the area, and were told that someone from the Pine Club left to open up his own restaurant, the Paragon Club. The quality of the meat and preparation is very close to that of the Pine Club Every time we visit, we... More

The Paragon Club is our favorite restaurant! Food is always delicious with great service. I will not order a steak unless I am at The Paragon. If we are celebrating a special occasion or are just hungry for a good steak, we always end up here!

Driven by this place for 30 years unfortunately they have not updated it since 1978. This is 1970s old school tacky on the inside but looks nice and cool from the front. Came in for early martinis and the bartender spilled them all over the place. The food was good and the servings were plentiful, but The Paragon had no... More

You need to know that I adore Supper Clubs: low lighting, all that burnished wood, hushed atmosphere where all at table can actually hear one another talk, and excellent service that is not obsequious. The Paragon Club in Centerville/Dayton has all the requisite markers! Steaks are certainly their speciality, but my Walleyed Pike was fresh and cooked to perfection. The... More

We dined here while on a shopping trip. It has the aura of the old fine dining establishments that used to be prevalent in the Dayton area. They were busy even though it was a little after 5:00 on a Saturday. We were greeted and seated promptly and had a helpful server. The food was excellent and filling as the... More

We have visited the Paragon Club many times over the past 10 to 15 years. This visit included six of us, it seemed only average in quality of food obtained. Prices seemed excessively higher too - $9 for a piece of Key Lime pie? The oysters Rockefeller had a good taste but we could barely find the actual oyster in... More

The steakhouse feel like any supper club from the 1950's. The meat is first class, and the sides are comforting. The premium house wine are decent for the price. The Bone-In Filet is absolutely top notch. It's lightly aged, thick, lightly season, a beautiful rare red. The porterhouse didn't hit the same bar. Considering the difference in cut they were... Old school supper club. If you are in the Dayton area then this is a top steakhouse along with The Pine Club, and The Oakwood Club. I have only had, in 15 years of dining here, a bone-in aged steak (a cowboy ribeye or a bone-in ribsteak) and the seafood platter. The place is straight 60's retro. Go only if... More

It isn't often that one can visit a restaurant and enjoy and excellently prepared meal and be able to carry on a conversation in a normal tone of voice. The Paragon is one of those places. I am told that it becomes a bit louder on weekends with live music, but we have not been there to experience that. Our entrees... More
