After many years in town we finally decided to try the well known Pine Club, a Dayton institution. Due to the no reservation policy, we went early in the afternoon, as they open at 4:30PM, to avoid the crowd, although we figure that on a Thursday there should be no problem. Well much to our surprise the place was crowded;... More

Bone-in ribeye lived up to the fame. So did my wife's cheeseburger. Perfectly cooked medium rare. Salad was a mediocre iceberg with carrots. It's only salvation was their famous house dressing. Onion rings delicious. Corn was very good. Wine (Pine Club generic Cab Sav) was good. Restaurant was small, dark and loud. Strange that it's cash only but OK. Stranger... More

Dinner last night at the Pine Club was great! It is classic and never changes. They are known for great steaks served with onion rings! However, their oysters on the half shell are always spectacular! Salad with house dressing great ( it's a lot -might want on the side) Great rolls. Wine is reasonable Stewed tomatoes for veggie is tradition.... More

Steaks are pretty good except for excessive salt and butter. Salad dressings are the best. No credit cards taken. I had to cross the street in the rain to access a gas station ATM.

When I want a restaurant steak, I go to the Pine Club. Their aged steaks are absolutely the best. I usually get the 6 oz. fillet and even then take some home. This place knows how to prepare beef. If you're looking for chic atmosphere - go some other place. I you're looking for good food in an atmosphere of... More

I heard about the restaurant when I searched yelp and seen that it was ranked in the top 5 steak houses in the nation. Also the fact that the food network went there, I figured I had to give it a shot. It was a toss up between pine club and oakwood club which raved the same reviews. Since the... More

Read about this fabuloius steak place; the negative first - cash only and you dont know that until you walk in - then you run across the street to the quick mart atm that charges you an additional $2 for the atm ( we all wondered if the restaurant owned the shop). Very small place and it was packed. No... More

I just don't get it. Been there years ago, even then it was a pain because they wouldn't take credit cards. Meals, including steak was just so-so. Waitress were tired. Recently went back, nothing has changed. Steaks are better at Oakwood Club, and even better, Dorothy Lane Market, at home on the grill. The place is old, old, old. So... More

The dark paneled ambience encircling the full-service bar is just the beginning in this trip back in time. The hostesses that remember you and the order that you came and then somehow find you at the bar that is packed three people deep is rarely seen in other restaurants. But, of course, the food that has had Presidents waiting is... More
