This is the place to go in Dayton for seafood. Crab lesgs are outatanding. Tuna is outstanding. Get it rare. All the dishes are very good. Servers are very knowledgeable and have been there a long time. Can't go wrong.

Jay's Seafood Restaurant is one of Dayton’s premier restaurants. We have been around long enough to remember the Old Yankee tavern that Jay ran in the south suburbs. Jay and family know seafood, Dayton, and wine. Jay's Seafood Restaurant is probably the best downtown Dayton restaurant, and is within walking distance of the Convention Center and downtown hotels. While we... More

I'm all for eating at locally owned places. The location and atmosphere are great. The food and services was good. The price is a little steep, even with a groupon. Expect to pay around $50 per person. My only complaint is the salad that comes with your meal, the dressing are homemade (which is a plus), but you can get... More

A friend called as asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner. I said yes and we met at Jay's. Service was great and so was the food. Nice atmosphere and crowd.

I use to be a frequent visitor to Jay's and had not been there in awhile. I love to eat at locally owned places instead of the chains. So, here you go. The food is still good and our waiter was excellent. However, it is pricier than it should be and the ownership needs to go hospitality training. We had... More

Don't look for a big store front or parking lot. This place is a converted house and which is elegant inside. You would not be over dressed in a coat and tie but a button up shirt and slacks are acceptable. The service was unquestionably good and the food was too. The vichyssoise was very tasty. Make sure you try... More

I ate at this restaurant with a large group a few days ago. We admittedly disadvantaged the wait staff because our party had split checks. That said, my dinner (broiled seafood platter) was delivered and although the shrimp and scallops were tasty, the fish had a strong, soapy taste to it. When I tasted the fish I decided not to... We dined here recently with friends. The menu is definitely seafood, although there is one steak entrée and one chicken/pasta if I recall. They do have a few specials as well. The spinach salad is awesome. Desserts are also very good. Great wine selection. Prices are reasonable for fine dining. Service was excellent. I would go back if ever in... More

This is a nice restaurant to visit if you are visiting the Dayton area. It is a little hard to find. It is in a large old brick building. Interior boasts a long antique bar and open beam ceiling. Wait staff is friendly and very attentive. Food is rather expensive for what you get. Will cost you around 50 dollars... More
