Very good selection of seafood dishes prepared several ways

Two couples stayed at Riverside Hotel and purchased vouchers for this restaurant. Medium price range for fresh seafood. Could order fish grilled, blackened, or fried. I got the grouper, lightly sautéed with the "chicken gravy" on the side (never tasted) and stuffed with crabmeat (not... read more

Two couples stayed at Riverside Hotel and purchased vouchers for this restaurant. Medium price range for fresh seafood. Could order fish grilled, blackened, or fried. I got the grouper, lightly sautéed with the "chicken gravy" on the side (never tasted) and stuffed with crabmeat (not discernible because of breading) but overall a tasty piece of fish. Attentive, cute waitstaff.

Went to Seagles this evening and was very disappointed. I ordered the pecan crusted grouper and had to return it because it reeked of an ammonia smell. The server was very nice and apologetic and I substituted "wild caught" salmon but I'm very skeptical about its origin. (maybe farm raised from costco?) I went home and googled ammonia smell on... Walked in and no one was there to great us. Food was average. The blackened seafood was simply way too salty (and I'm someone would love salt). I don't plan on going back.

Seagles is not a place if you are looking for atmosphere, it looks old. The service though was excellent, Kyle was "johnny-on-the-spot". The food was well prepared and plentiful.

Well, truth be told we ate in the bar area every evening as that's where the people were. The locals and hotel guests all hang out here. Full bar and pretty good prices. The fried mushrooms were yummy! The other items we had were good too. Everyone mentions Cindy, the bartender as if she is scary. She is a hoot... More

I grew up in St. Marys and remember the hotel, restaurant and saloon to be a classier act than I found during this week's visit. The restaurant was dirty, flies were numerous in the filthy windows, it smelled bad, and this "seafood" restaurant was out of shrimp and flounder in a town that is known as a fishing village. I... The food is great! Prices are reasonable on most things, but some things are more expensive. Will return!

We went here with a group of 6. None of us really raved about anything. Soup was sent back for being cold... It was alright but I probably won't return.

I was very intrigued by the Riverview Hotel. It was exciting to think that Carnegie and Rockefeller stayed there. I snooped around a bit while we waited for our food. I loved the old feel of it, but it could sure do with some freshening up.It was nice that they had one sitting room that you could walk through to... More
