While visiting Yorktown we decided to cancel reservation we had for another place and went to eat at the Duke of York, as so many people on Trip Advisor said is great. What a disappointment! The place is in a desperate need of update with furniture from the 60s and parts of ceiling coming off or missing. Food while in... More

Dinner Wed-Sun is prepared by Jimmy, the chef at what used to be Nick's Seafood before a hurricane destroyed the building. Absolutely delicious.

We asked if we could order something other than breakfast food and we were told we could...we are veggie eaters and we ordered salads and they were delicious. Service was great. Atmosphere pleasant. Lots of customers seemed to be enjoying their breakfast meals. Entire staff were friendly and happy to have the guests in the restaurant. A gem place to... More

Our server was awesome. But, the food was extra greasy and not jumbo shrimp(more like small). We all 3 ate a different entree so we could sample each other's. The flounder was bland, the jumbo shrimp were small and only partially breaded (and greasy) and the scallops were sitting in a pool of grease and rubbery. The hush puppies were... More

The food was very good and they brought you plenty! I had shrimp and the shrimp were definitely JUMBO! The staff was friendly also. The inside really needed some repairs and updating.

I rank this experience as disappointing because I feel I was misled by the website's claims. This was our first revisit to the area since 1970 and we were hoping to relive the experience we used to have at Nick's Seafood Pavilion. I especially remember the wonderful whole broiled flounder. I learned, of course, that Nicks had closed, but the... More

I don't think I could explain the feeling I get when I walk into the duke of York restaurant. It was almost the same feeling as going on your first date. A little nervous, anxious, yet excited to experience what's to come. I opened the menu to only be knocked off my feet with a complete blow to my taste... More

During our visit to Yorktown we decided to have a large lunch, then play golf and have a small dinner. We looked on TripAdvisor and found this restaurant. The decor is dated and not attractive but we were extremely surprided by the size, quality and taste of the broiled seafood platter which we both enjoyed.

Had a wonderful dinner of Mussels, Asian Chicken Sandwich, Rib Eye Steak and Drinks...Outstanding and delicious. The server Erin was prompt, courteous, unobtrusive and a nice gal. The Chef, L.J. came out and asked if our meal was to our satisfaction and of course it was. A wonderful dining experience. We will be back and we recommend this restaurant to... More
