Great staff

We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and each time the food, especially the crabcakes, was superb. The thing that made this restaurant special for us was the friendly, chatty sevice that we received on every visit. We would certainly go back.

The soft she'll crab and salad. However both the calm chowder and the crab bisque looked unappealing and we're very bland. Perhaps it was an off night.

A staff, some of whom had obviously spent many years in this restaurant and a menu which somehow transmitted a sense of care and quality regarding seafood made me hopeful of a fine meal. I was not disappointed. A salad lightly dressed with house vinaigrette accented rather than overpowered the fresh greens. The rockfish came, as advertised, with an ample... More

I don't care whether we come for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the results are always the same...OUTSTANDING CUISINE!! We were reminded of this recently as we returned from a 10-day Carribbean Cruise. It was our 3rd cruise, and the food gets worse every time! There were some meals I couldn't even choke down! We were so happy to come home... More

The food was delicious and plentiful. For the first time in my life, I had to take some unfinished food home with me.

Many small hotels have restaurants, and a lot of them aren't very good. This place is an exception. Being a seafood lover, it is nice to be able to get some good, fresh seafood. The Duke of York can provide just that. The view is nice too! They also have some favorite items that were once served at the famous,... More

The Duke of York is ideally located, right on the Yorktown beach, overlooking the York River. The breakfast menu is large and tasty, a wide variety of things to please. While the service is spotty, it's sincere. A nice place to have a leisurely breakfast.

We carried our bags to the car, then got a table for breakfast at the restaurant. After ordering, we walked over to the check-in and turned in our keys. Great coffee and a nice variety of breakfast offerings.

My wife, her father and I actually ate lunch here first and the next day, drove all the way back here from Williamsburg to eat here again, this time for dinner. For lunch, I had the she crab bisque and half a club. The bisque was the best soup I have eaten anywhere in my life. The sandwich was perfection... More
